Love my 505 now I can get some accessories thks

    • Probably going to return my 505, the O/S keeps crashing and rebooting.

      • Happened to me, returned once and still crashing, then replaced with brand new unit.

I have the 500 and the 505, 505 has ant and BT; mine would crash when I tried to connect the ANT, the crash would happen when returning to the main display screen, if I left it on a settings screen it would work, however kinda useless not seeing the metrics.

  • I just wish they had the ANT+ dongle! I need one.

  • any gps units?

  • I came here to tease GPS providers for the erosion of their market share due to smart phones.

Then….I saw a Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor dirt cheap and I promptly shut my mouth and clicked the link….

    Thanks OP!!!

    • Most serious cyclists carry a smart phone in a jersey pocket in case they break down somewhere and need to call a taxi but use a (mostly Garmin) cycle computer to record their data and tell them their live cadence, heart rate, power output in watts etc. There hasnt been a big takeup of people strapping their iPhone to their stem (from what i can see anyways). it might be different for commuters and casual cyclists but for the Strava brigade most are on Garmins, probably since Mobiles run out of power a couple of hours into a ride or they are too worried they will smash their iPhone if they crash etc.

  • I have 2 500 series units, had to return one as the software had issues and there was no way I could reload despite following their guide, would not let me reload as the latest software version was already applied. Anyway, I also have received 2 of the ant+ HR monitors and both had very brittle plastic around the battery tab so that on the initial opening of it the plastic has broken off. Just an FYI, I still think they represent great value and the unit is better than my experience with a Garmin 800

Update: Got 2 bluetooth HR monitors, at the price couldn't resist, fingers crossed they don't have the same defect

    • I'm going to do the same and hope they work as well as the Polar H7 did with my devices.

The Polar H7 worked with my old FT7 watch (ANT) AND could pair with my iphone 4s and 5s via bluetooth.
At the time I was using Adidas MiCoach as the fitness app.
It was nice to be able to run/workout and use the watch as the main point of reference while the phone stayed tucked away and calculating in my armband or pocket.

Stopped working out for a while and somehow lost my Polar H7 somewhere.
As I stated earlier, I hope this works just as well.

    • Got 2 x BT Straps too! Will see how they go. Good price thanks!

  • Cheers folks.
I ended up getting a few more accessories than I needed but they were quite cheap - and saved on postage too.

    • Which ones did you buy?

      • +1

As i mentioned had the 505 unit from one of the last sales so most of what I bought were spares or extras of what I had already.
        Bought:
        Magellan Rubber Case
        BT HRM
        ANT+ HRM
        Mount
        Speed & Cadence Sensor

  • Bought new ANT+ HR Strap, great deal!

  • Got the ant+ HR strap too. Purchase went through PayPal, but no email notification provided from Magellan/Navman.
    Any idea on shipping time?
