  • I don't think its the best one anymore … :) but good price..

    • -1

Best one is LX7(DSLR) from Panasonic, LX3 is also sold at O.W for $497 and LX7 for about $569

      • LX7?? But LX5 isn't even out yet!!? Or you meant LZ7?

    • +1

It's still the top P&S from Panasonic? Some may say the S90 is taken the mantle of top P&S, but I think the LX3 still excels and has a better feel to it then the S90.

  • mm for point and shoot there still isnt really much that rivals it apart from Canons powershot

  • +1

    I managed to pick up a Panasonic TZ10 for $350 :)
The price was supposed to be another model but the guy gave me that price for the TZ10 instead. Well below cost!

    • Francisco - Where from - I want to buy one too. I'm also in Melb. Can you pleease post your receipt?

      Thanks - Mart..

  • LX3 is the best on the market the Canon G11 may be an equal but the colour reproduction on the LX3 in my mind kills it

This is an absolute steal of a price I got one for $450 on ebay but it was Australian Stock took me alot of hunting and haggling

BTW the only issue with this camera is ISO it's really a camera designed for shooting day it has a slight bias too under exposed images and you have too accomodate for this at night and shoot with at ISO 80 for perfect images

One of my shots with my recently acquired LX3

  • spuderump what store did you purchase this from I'm going too try my luck at transfering one too my local store. Got a friend who is keen on this after seeing mine

  • store was edwardstown

  • How is this 1 compare to Cannon's 400ish cameras or other brands @ the same price range?

    • No comparison to their mainstream range. Its a competitor to the G11 and S90 really.

      • I have no ideal what is G11/S90…now time to google :)
        I'm a beginner & I like Nikon D90 but can't afford it yet.
Is this one good for beginner?

        • This is basically a highend P&S, which gives you manual controls similar to the DSLR. Its no interchangeble lens, but you get a nice WIDE lens and pretty much only 3x Zoom. Its great for beginners but not if you want to get the proper DSLR experience. This is basically the camera pro photographers use when they don't want to carry a DSLR.

  • What are the chances of GG or any other stores pricematching your store since it's a clearance item?

  • BTW is it included flash like in this picture?
    http://www.digitalcamerainfo.com/images/upload/Image/DCI-Blo…

    • i think thats a viewfinder not a flash

  • In this day and age if I paid this much I'd expect full HD movie recording ability

    • +1

It's not aimed at video recording. However, it takes beautiful videos thanks to its sensor and lens. Just because a camera can do FULLHD doesn't mean its GOOD VIDEO! It's like saying more megapixels is better.

  • Sharp this camera wasn't created in the day and age lol 720 has the best really in compacts back then

Thats a viewfinder lol it has a built in flash and does support larger flash units

If anyone is travelling and plans on taking landscape shots this is the camera for them

  • All Good Guys stores?

  • Most good guys stores don't carry this model too high end

  • Panasonic Lx3 vs TZ10/TZ7
These are two outstanding cameras in two completely different categories.

The LX3 is a high quality advanced camera for people who want the best possible image quality in the smallest possible package. The lens is sharp and fast. You have full manual controls. Does shoot raw. This is more for prosumer

The TZ10 is the finest travel zoom camera ever made. Incredible in it's zoom range and HD video ability. does not shoot raw. Can read SDHC and newer SDXC cards. This is more for the average consumer.

the LX3 has always been more expensive than the TZ10

  • any 1 else able to get this camera for that price? seems like only 1 available at that store…

  • JB HiFi Hornsby has this in stock actually all the camera stores there have it but not one of them wanted too match Ryda's $500 price so not sure if you'll have luck with someone matching this for even less

    Lucky people in SA :(

  • anyone who got this deal, can you please upload receipt, so we can try to go for price match

  • meh…should prob just get a cannon s90 for $400 which will fit in your pocket with same photo quality. after reading the reviews i dont see the point of this model? you still need to put it in a bag, so why not just get a DSLR?

    • Where can you get a s90 for $400?

    • +1

Many still like the handling of the LX3 (grip, etc). S90 still feels to much of a consumer P&S. LX3 has also slightly wider lens and all-round I think is better then the S90 lens (for my own type of shooting). There is no definitive 'one is better then the other'.

  • He must mean grey stock lol http://www.shopbot.com.au/m/?m=Canon+S90

Most reviews against the S90 say the LX3 is better they are also both very similar in size, short of the lense size but this is what makes the LX3 a better camera the S90 has a very poor lense in comparison especially the min aperture at the zoomed end

    • did you actually read the reviews? go on youtube and view the side by side review, then tell me they're very similar in size. you cant fit the LX3 in your pocket. you'll need a carry case or hand bag for it. LX3 does have better lens for landscape shots but S90 does better night shots.

      • Umm, LX3 can fit into regular pockets. Even fit into my work pants. its not small, but it aint massive either.

  • anyone have an upload of the invoice, i would like to see if i can get a same deal in VIC

    • Yes, this would be good.

Let me know if you have any luck. I'm in VIC also.
