  • Taipan has a horrid sensor, you can read all about it and there's no reason why you'd want to buy this.

Tournament Stealth is also a crappy keyboard and you can buy a RGB version of it with better build quality from another brand for the same price.

Take my advice and don't buy into this junk paying for brand name.

    • I honestly didn't read anything past Black Widow Keyboard, thats the real bargain here, you won't get a decent mech keyboard less.

    • I loved my Taipan. Sensor tracked just fine.

What is the keyboard you're mentioning that is the same price but also an RGB version with better build quality? I've got five Razer products and loving them all, but would love to get a silent mechanical keyboard to add to my collection.

      • Mechanicals aren't silent though.

        • That is where you are wrong buddy. There are a few cherry mx that have the silent version now.

@Letrico: Cherry MX Silent switches aren't silent. They still make a considerable amount of noise. For example, with orings, it quietens the noise the switche makes when bottoming out. HOWEVER, the mechanical switch also makes a noise when it fully debounces which the "silent mechanisms" don't silence.

So that's where you are wrong buddy.

I happy for you to prove me wrong but all mechanicals, even silent switches, make a considerable amount of noise.

@shot: Sure thing buddy. Using your argument even membrane keyboards have sound but sure, let's just all be ignorant.

        • @Letrico: Then why not just buy a cheap mechanical keyboard like the ones i mentioned above, then buy some $2.50 orings?

      • Have a look at the ajazz I linked above and order the black switches version. Then buy some o-rings for $2.50 and you've got an almost silent (silent doesn't exist, but close as you can get) backlit mechanical for $43 shipped, and it isn't full plastic. Warranty doesn't matter since if it breaks, you can just buy a new one and it'll cost the same as the Razer, and you don't have to deal with MSY for warranty.

        • I also endorse the Ajazz AK33. If you're going for a budget board, the AK33 is one of the best for the price. The only thing, is that you have to wait 4 weeks.

The AK33 has a sweet 75% layout, which provides pretty much the same functionality as a tenkeyless keyboard. Razer use Kailh manufactured key switches, so they're nearly in the same ball park as the Zorro/Ajazz switches in the AK33.

Although build quality is similar between the two keyboards.

    • Hey shot,
I'll blindly take your word for it and heed your advice.
I see what you would not recommend, but what would you recommend?

can wait 4 weeks? Buy what I linked above on my downvoted comment

        Can't wait: buy ths: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tesoro-Durandal-G1N-Mechanical-Ga…

you don't skimp out on the numpad yet you get far superior switches that aren't fake and last a lifetime due to being stringent quality control in Germany. For the same price.

        • Cheers mate, appreciated

Razer is all marketing, their products are shoddy. All the stuff is designed to look good and are made from cheap materials in Chinese slave labour factories.
