Any James Squires 6 Pack $10 @ Liquorland (Requires Coles Receipt Voucher)

1100

Walking out of Coles I checked my receipt and had an offer for James Squire The Swindler 6 pack for $10. Pretty good price for a 6 pack of this stuff as it is usually around $22. Asked the lady in the store where it was and she said that I could have any of the James Squires 6 packs for $10. So took a shot at the amber ale.

I don't know if this was a targeted offer for me but I've attached my receipts so hopefully can price match.

Been going for a couple of weeks with James Squire beers. Dan Murphy Club needs to lift their game

      Either way, woollies win.

      • +12

How? Liquorland is Coles and Dan Murphy's is Woolworths.

        • You're right. I was so accustomed to seeing James squire on the Woolies receipts, I just assumed it was BWS. Have to stop ozbargaining on the shitter.

    • Heading should specify with voucher

Coles has been doing this for a while. Almost any purchase will net you a bottle of wine or a six pack of something for $10. In the last few months it's included Pure Blonde, Hahns Super Dry, Asahi Super Dry and a couple others.

Good deal if you can pick the Hop Thief for $10.

Hop Thief or 150 lashes. Two good brews from the Squire range

      • +4

The chancer and nine tales are just as good.

        • +6

Chancers Golden Ale is my favourite.

Didn't know you could swap the swindler for other james squire beers till i read it on here recently tried it out yesterday & got hop thief lady said all liquorland stores will do it. I think to get the beer offer you have to buy something from the deli.

    • I bought something from the Deli and had the offer on my docket today. I chucked it out though because The Swindler sucks….damn!!

      • From memory that offer goes till june 14th so you've still got time .

    • I only scored a diff squire because they didn't have swindler, they're "having supply issues" first time i tried to redeem the staff only offered that pure blond swill, i walked out and went back two days later with different staff member.

    • Deli or meat department.

Woolies do similiar deals with BWS with the same conditions; lately it's been hanh and heineken, but sometimes they have squires on the deal too.

  • Better than the Woolies bws $47 carton of squires deal. Has anyone tried the OPs receipt? Is it unique or generic? TIA(:

  • Can confirm the barcode is the same for everyone.

    • Will they accept scans via phone or prints though ie. Not directly from a receipt?

      • +4

You will need a physical reciept.

  • Didnt know you could swap it, thanks OP!

  • I also have one of these receipt offers on the fridge. Didn't know you could swap for a different Squires - perhaps assuming the store you're in doesn't have Swindler. Thanks.

  • Is there a minimum buy at deli/meat department?

    • Don't think so i bought a stick of kabana .

    • +1

Nope - I bought a marked down salad for 80c that was expiring that day :p

  • Yep, both Woolies and Coles have deals on the dockets for either beer or wine

Some good deals for the 6 packs as posted here.
I usually try and buy when I get a beer offer (seem to get more wine deals).

It's good to keep in the cupboard for taking to a BBQ or a mates place as $10/6pk is cheap, rather than paying $22 when grabbing something on the way.

Picked up some James Squire, Fat Yak and Pure Blonde over the last few weeks.

    • Woolies offer is 24pk for $47 or 6pk for $13 on my receipt, not as good as Coles.

      • Yeah, that is true, but I will sometimes buy as I never know when I'll get a Coles offer as it's random as to what you'll get.

Thanks for posting this, I was not aware that it counts for the whole James Squire range. I had the Swindler beer last week and was not impressed. Just picked up a Hop Thief :-)

    • Agreed, will be doing the same this week!

I like how the swindler wins gold awards elsewhere, but most Australians seem to find other brews more to their liking.

  • Got same voucher today. Staff said I could buy any James Squires 6 pack but were already sold out of most due to the deal. Will try mid week once they have restocked.

  • 1st Choice will let you use the Liquorland voucher but only on the Swindler. I tried on Hop Thief and they made me swap it back.
I will use the next vouchers at Liquorland for Hop Thief. A bit further away though :-(

  • Anyone know if james Squire have an IPA beer, or near equivalent?

    • Yep, it's called the Stowaway. Haven't tried it myself though.

    • Yep. Haven't had it in 6 months so it may have changed but it was one of my go to beers for a while.

It's pretty heavy (about 5.6% I think) so good value in that regard.

Good for an easy drinking malty bitter with just a touch of hops - which is how i like my IPAs generally. Possibly not enough going on with the hops for some IPA lovers though.

The bummer is most of my local bottle shops don't stock it anymore just Dans.

      • IPA's in general are hard to find, between the two main ones, I think they only sell one or two versions, can rarely find Vale IPA for love nor money… :oS

        • +3

Most if not all First Choice stores will have the Vale IPA which is a cracking beer. Extended range in Liquorland though.

You've also got - little creatures, hawthorn, thunder road and feral hop hog which should be in most FC stores.

Great post-thanks for the info about swapping the brew!

  • I had the American Pale Ale, very Hop flavoured, real nice

  • I got the six pack of the james Squire, I think it was called summer ale, it wasn't very nice. The last month they had the fat yak which was very nice and before that the calton superdry which was awful and before that hahn superdry which is very nice and is my choice drink now rather than green/red tun I used to buy. I havn't bought from Dans since I started with these coupons a few months ago but if the next month is another summer ale awful disaster that is it with those coupons.

  • FYI new docket deal for the swindler 6pk for $10 is now valid to 28th june here's hoping that you can swap it again for any james squire .Can someone confirm this if they are successful.

    • +1

Yes, it has exactly the same conditions as the previous coupon and you can still swap it for a different JS 6pk.

You will need the coupon with the new date, before anyone asks.

      • The normal price is $22. Is there a reason why they are selling it so cheap?

        • +1

They've been doing these $10 6-packs for close to a year now, I think. Originally it was a combo thing with Coles where you purchased from the meat department (as a meal-matching sort of deal) but now they seem to be untargeted.

I'm not privy to the ins and outs, but I would hazard a guess that it's the breweries footing some of the cost for these sorts of promos, e.g the Swindler is a new product in stores and they're trying to get the word out. It could also be a loss leading tactic, since as someone else said they've done the same deal with Heineken, Carlton Dry, etc.
