Event Cinema Movie Ticket 12.50 Long Weekend Buy 2 and Pay Only $15 AmEx Cash Back $10

    Wut?

    • +1

Haha I know right…. it's like, do you even Ozbargain?

    • silly

  • +3

Cinebuzz rewards is selling a standard ticket at $12.50 each.

AMEX OFFer: Buy 2 of these tickets from cinebuzz rewards and get $10 back.

  • +3

for telstra customers its $12.50 all year round

    • gold class @$20

      • Through Telstra? I've never seen gold class offered

        • I know AAMI offers them @$20 Mon-Wed IIRC

        • @Kamui: good deal! Sell some in ozbargain classifieds?

    • +5

This deal also lets you buy tickets after 5pm on Saturday and on public holidays, which Telstra thanks does not. See https://www.telstra.com.au/thanks/movies.

      • good point yadayadayada.

Either way good deal. I was already looking at telstra tickets combining it with the AMEX deal before this was posted…good to know I'm not limited to days of the week.

        • +1

However, it looks like the $12.50 non-Telstra offer still requires $1.20 booking fee per ticket.

  • +1

    Actually, idea..

Could you buy $60 worth of gift cards, pay on 3 AMEXs at $20 each (i.e. effective cost $30)
Then buy 2x Gold Class with those gift cards?
Then it becomes $15 per gold class ticket

    • Why can't you just buy the 2 gold class with 3 AMEX?

      • If the payment system allows you to pay on 3 cards then that would work.

Alternatively, you can still buy the gift cards so that you can use it some time in the future (as opposed to being restricted to the promotional period of this AMEX offer).

        • I don't think you can do split payments online. But if you do it in person at the cinema, it might work.

  • Why is QLD holiday different …..

      Different queen

Coz we are special. We are officially Queen's LAND. All other states don't care that much.

We can't even have female crabs here….dodgy

  • Event cinema gift cards work at Village? We don't have Event cinema in Victoria

  • Wow…I didn't know the movie ticket in some cities is $20 pp until I saw this post. The adult ticket only costs $10 in ACT.

    • +1

      lucky you..

Only entertainment, other than free comedy show in parliament .

        • The comedy show will get interesting soon..

@stockastics: We pay for these incompetent people to govern us. We never get pay rises, our super is bare minimum, can't claim travel to work while they can double dip.
          Democracy???

        • @sachy: it's the most exciting time to live in aus with no wage growth, corrupt unions, devil far right group..forgetting how to spell democracy now..

  • Cineplex gives reasonable movie ticket prices ($8.50 adults) for QLD customers. Are there equivalents in other states?

  • Got 2 tickets for Sunday night $ 17.4 (including online fee ) so $8.7 per ticket. Thanks

E raju, chal aaja ye baju.

Unsure if this should be its own post but the qantaspoints store sells movie tickets for $12 for Events, Hoyts, Village etc. From memory its minimum 4 tickets per booking and you have 5 months to use the tickets from issue. You also get points but its minimal. Just for those who might not have AMEX/Telstra/Optus etc

    • can you book for weekends via quantas store?

      • Yes weekends, but not after 5pm on Saturdays like most offers. Also it requires you to select a cinema but you can use it at whichever cinema in the chain (I booked for Hoyts EQ and used the first two there and the second two at Hoyts Broadway)

    • Entertainment book has similar.

    • Gold class?

      • doesn't look like it. it does say for my Hoyts tickets "Valid for standard (2D) screenings only. HOYTS vouchers may also be redeemed for any 3D and/or Xtremescreen movie session with an upgrade fee. Online booking fees apply when prebooking seats at http://www.hoyts.com.au." maybe there's an upgrade fee for Gold Class?

    • I'm only seeing $14 for Event Cinemas from Qantas Store.

      • I'm only seeing them in points values. Can someone link the Australian currency paid tickets on Qantas?

  • Damn…4 days too late!

  • Still cheaper to see a movie elsewhere, hardly a deal!

I am surprised that anyone on ozbargain still use them!

    • Gold class is incredibly comfy. Especially for a date. The fewer people means you can also enjoy the movie without excessive people making noise or throwing things or otherwise. :)

      • Yes, but others have there gold class equivalent too. My local also puts it's gold class seats in the first few rows of its normal cinemas to encourage people to sit at the front.

  • No shows in Vic

  • don't forget $3.25 online booking fee

  • +1

Also you can register and spend $40 or more at BP to get 10 back .you may do this three times before July 7
I believe you can buy BP gift cards and spend it later.
25% on 40 worth of fuel is a good saving

Buy $20 gift card using Amex and watch a movie on Tuesday to maximise savings.

  • So do you need an American Express card? or can you just use a visa or mastercard to get the $10 off.

    • +1

This only for Amex card holders who register for the offer

  • Noob question.. How do I buy the movie tickets/GC with my amex card?
what link do i use to take advantage of the $12.50 and $30 gold tiks

    • +1

I believe you have to create an event cinemas account and then when you select the long weekend ticket which is 2 for 25 then there is a space for a promo code, you would get this code via the american express link up top

      • +2

        No code involved
You spend$20 first and Amex credit 10 to your account
But must register your card at Amex connect before spending

  • Bought two Gold Class tickets, one with each of my Amex cards. Came to 23.25 each ticket after Amex credit.
$3.25 per ticket booking fee is an absolute rip - but overall still good value.

  • No0b qn; what's the benefit of gold class, other than big seats?

  • +1

worth it for long movies and hot dates.

Be prepared to spend a fortune on average food though, but eh its brought out to you via a waiter so its worth it
