Good to see forumninja has some competition for posting the manual links.

      • What's a manual link vs others?

      • BP has now reached its maximum number & can no longer register

    • +3

thanks - i've posted it as a separate deal given the rarity and popularity of such a discount :)

      • Good work, not sure why that's neg worthy.

  • Event Cinemas targeted? wont let me redeem it to my card

  • Can anyone suggest me to get a no annual fee AMEX card?

  • There's also a targeted Space Furniture offer - spend $500, get $250 back.

Best offer since the Mr Porter one a few years back

    • Could you share the link and see if it works for the rest of us?

      • I can only see it in my AMEX app, nowhere else.

    • +2

Plat charge specific so it seems.

      • +1

        I think you're spot on

        • I would love this being a generic offer though, got quite a few things to buy from there…

        • @mini2:

yeah and they have the mid year sale happening too!

        • @captain smash:

Perfect timing…and luckily I've hold off some of the purchases. Suddenly the bill is $1k cheaper (over 4 cards).

      • +1

plat charge the one with $1200 annual?

        • Yes

    • I have the same one on my Amex, but for some reason it wont let me "save to card". Says "unable to process"
      Everything else works fine though.

    • Which AMEX card/s have you got?

    • thanks :)

  • Was literally looking at it late last night and these deals weren't there. Cheers!

  • I hate seeing vendors on the list that I just purchased from a few days ago

  • What's the easiest way to get an Amex Card? Guessing no fees? I have a westpac amex but i don't think that counts towards this.

    • +2

      Yes it does.

      • -1

It's never worked before. It's a bank AMEX card.

        • +1

          It should.

Who is eligible to take advantage of the offerings on American Express Connect?
If you have an American Express Card or American Express bank-issued card, you are eligible for Connect.

However, at this time, the following cards are not eligible for Connect: American Express Business Travel Accounts, Government Cards, Corporate Purchasing Cards, Corporate Meeting Cards Corporate Cards and Prepaid Cards.

        • +1

I've been using my Westpac Amex with Amex Connect for years, including registering for the deals above.

        • @uder:

I used my CBA amex card a few months ago to take advnatge of dan murphys offer and it worked

however now Icant even log in or register

so im not too sure whats going on!

          edit: got mine working,

its still saying my card is invalid when I try and reigster, but ive manged to log in

    no manual link for Hilton?

  • +3

That's it!!!…totally treating my misses to popcorn and a choc top.

  • +1

Try this with Telstra $12.50 Event Cinema tickets.

  • Bugger just booked flights with QANTAS on the weekend….

  • Anyone know if I use my Westpac issued AMEX (which comes with the Westpac visa) to buy Qantas air ticket, will I still be covered by the travel insurance that comes with the Westpac visa card? Already ask Westpac and staff there does not know.

    • Travel insurance which is provided as part of a credit card generally applies to purchases made with that card as opposed to the account which the card is linked to. So, I would think that purchases made with card A would not be covered by the insurances offered on card B even if cards A and B are linked to the one account.

    • +1

yes, they are really the one account
the insurances provided are for purchases on either card

FYI I have amex/mastercard on westpac black. The T&C's dont differentiate which card you use.

for qantas online cashback, have anyone tried to do the hotel bookings and get the cashback?

  • Does anyone else find site is down?

    • Yeah, bit spotty for me. Also, doesn't seem to let me use my Amex issued one to sign up to the Event one… :( It doesn't appear in my Amex Online either.

  • They just sent an email to everyone about the new deals, so I think that's why the website is getting hammered.

  • I just registered two cards even though I didn't signing up or logging in (i.e I didn't create a profile etc). Thanks OP

  • Is it still 1 point per $ on amex offers?

  • Subscribed to the event cinemas offer, went to the movies tonight, but didn't get the credit. I normally get an email from Amex soon after I make a transaction.

    • credit usually takes up to 5 business days. you need to have patience

  • Anyone know if it's possible at all to split payment across multiple cards on Qantas website? Failing that, does Qantas gift vouchers go through "Qantas.com"?

    • +1

Looks like gift cards worked last time for this offer, tempting to give it a go.

Just thinking, if I have a $700+ flight to buy -> I buy a $350 voucher, do the booking for the flight, pay with the voucher, then pay remainder ($350+) with another Amex. Double cash back?? Also avoid CC fee??

Pity you can only use 1 voucher per booking it seems…

  • is anyone else getting the error message logging in?

mine has been unable to log in for the past 12 hours at least

    • guys, sorry to be a pain ,but do any of you guys have a bank issued one?

I am fighting with amex because I am getting stupid answers that make no sense

Ihave used their system before, I have a valid password and username

and the last 4 people I have spoken to all say "oh we dont have access to your details, it must be the banks fault"

I cant even log in , and yet they are still claiming that the amex emails must have been issued by the bank!!

its coming up wtih "we are sorry we couldnt process at this time, please try later or contact us on the link below"

its been like this for a week

  • Spend 350 on qantas.com to get 50 back, except qantas.com charges $30 credit card surcharge for international fligt…. so lame…

    • isn't surcharges getting the chop and going to have to reflect the actual cost to the business? Maybe it hasn't applied yet

  • Went to Event Cinemas for the Sydney Film Festival. My friend and I both have AMEXes so trying to take advantage of the $10 credit … Can't buy a medium combo and a bag of candy each as the medium combo is $13 and the bag of candy $6.90! Ended up using one AMEX and buying two medium combos.

    • +1

      no gift cards? :)

      • Good idea! Unfortunately I don't go to Event Cinemas that often to justify purchasing a gift card …

  • Been patiently waiting for the Hilton link. Keeps doing the loop when I click on enroll / save to card at the amex connect website. The offer is not showing in my account. Anybody got a manual link? Thanks.

    • From memory of you go incognito mode on your phone the looping fixes. https://network.americanexpress.com/connect/au/en/doe_offer_…

      • Tried doing incognito mode on both phone and laptop, still goes to a loop. It will ask for card number to sign up, then it goes to the page with enrol button, clicking on it will again go back to the same enrol page.

  • Maybe it's better to buy a Event Cinema gift card for $20 first as this offer will expire by the 8th August.

I finally found the manual link for Hilton.
