Thanks for the link, seems they had problems with it a year ago too, maybe a 50% failure rate? I get a generic "WELCOME2016" code for the $5 off but I have to login, not too sure I even want to.

Out of the 3 CSA32 sets I bought during 2 different sales, 2 failed and 1 I have never taken out of the box as I know it will fail.

Soniq refused to refund, you made me remember about my ACCC claim that never got any resolution. I should chase that up.
Unfortunately I did not learn my lesson and bought 2 more of the 2.1 systems and 1 5.1 setup afterwards during a JB HiFi sale. I intended to use them as gifts and keep one set for myself (as when it worked they sounded pretty damn good), but now they sit in their boxes in storage as I can't give a gift I know will stop working after a week or two.
If they work then they are a great bargain, however many people besides myself on this forum complained about DOA units, and units that stopped working after a week or two.
so the speakers do sound nice when working? havent been able to find any reviews. Also am pretty sophisticated with repairing electronics so it might not be an issue for me :)
the main controller on the board shits it self. some have had luck resoldering it but in my case it was dead
I'm kind of proficient in electronics repair myself - in the comments section of that link I wrote how I temporarily fixed them with a solder reflow, before the problem started happening again after about a week.
I have a feeling the problem may be with the transformer windings or relay though, which to fix would mean much more work than it's worth (for me personally). I didn't even want to diagnose further. I actually still have the first failed set on my desk, I really should remove it!
They did sound great when they worked though.
They were $9 delivered during the JB HiFi sale along with the 5.1 model, which was when I jumped on buying a few more sets. Another of which failed, and the others are still in their box in storage.
is the controller hard wired to the sub?
The amp is removable but it's mounted inside the sub.

The warranty void if removed sticker was broken before I got it.
My 5.1 and 2.1 are still working after I replaced the first 2.1 which was DOA. I found the sub on the 2.1 sounds better than the sub from the 5.1, did you notice any difference between the two or did I get dud?
I also replaced the satellites with some 2 way speakers I had laying around and it sounds pretty good.

i got in within the first few minutes of the sale opening so i doubt it has to do with OzBargain haha possible we didnt help it :)

The CSA32 is the larger and more powerful model. The carton is 470mm x 305mm x 335mm and weighs 6.4kg. Soniq quote delivery to Sydney and Brisbane at $12
The T2QAS50K is smaller model and about 1/2 the weight. Soniq quotes delivery to Sydney and Brisbane at $40.
Furthermore, Sydney and Brisbane are about 1000km apart and in different freight zones.
So, I admit that your reply had a certain chance of being correct - however you forgot to actually check the facts.

I am no Einstein, I am just a pleb, working in a dispatch department who has to post different items to different states on a weekly basis. I also think you are missing my point, What I quoted is from Aus Post Postage rates chart, I am sure you are in a position to check this as it is available on their website.
