Please Help Me with My Internet

Hello everyone

I'm looking to buy something to improve the internet at home atm, I'm with TPG adsl2+ unlimited and have a dlink ac 750 modem, the internet is not very stable, sometime my TV box can't connect internet using wifi.
I brought the modem about one month ago however I don't think it is possible to refund it. so i don't want buy a new modem.
here is few option,

  1. buy a good router, thinking about NetGear Nighthawk R7000 or ASUS RT-AC68U, connect it next to my modem
  2. since my wifi working fine with my computer, just buy a powerline adapter to use line connect to my tv box,
  3. buy both powerline adapter and router, connect the new router to the powerline, I will connect them close to my computer and expect have a much smoother gaming experience and it will be much closer to my tv box and should have no problem connect to wifi anymore.

please advice which is better or other ideas
thanks very much

  • Just get a router. I find the routers ISP provide to be total crap. R7000/AC68U doesn't matter both are fantastic. The moment I changed my router I have never had to reset it; something that I needed to do daily if not more than once a day. Keep in mind that if you have fully bricked out two-storey house wifi signal is not gonna improve that drastically even with these routers (particularly on the 5ghz band).

  • OP you want to spend $170 odd on just a router.

Better off getting the d7 adsl2+ router here.
