Hi Guys,

Swung by Big W to grab one of those 50% off Tefal frying pans and I saw these Kinder Surprise eggs for 99c a piece. So I bought a box of 24. Asked if it was store specific as I didn't see it in their catalogue and the nice lady told me the price is available at all stores. She was right since it is posted on their website.

A whole basket full left at the Chullora store.

The kids love these, regardless of the toys inside.

Edit: still available

Kinder Surprise 20g Eggs Pink $0.99

I'm surprised people pay $50/kg for this chocolate…

    • +6

For the toy obviously….. dur… Clearly you have never bought it so you are surprised.

      • +2

        For the toy obviously…

the piece of plastic, which is part of the 20g. So that is worth $50/kg too? (normal price $100/kg) ???

        • +24

You've been away from never never land too long JV. You've forgotten what it means to be a kid. A Kinder surprise contains about 5c worth of chocolate and plastic, but holds inside it something worth much much more. If you think kids are dumb for wanting this for $1, I should wonder what you think of adults who drop $20k+ on a new car thinking it will fix all their problems.

No one really stops believing in magic, they just call it a different name.

Edit: Pokies is probably a better example..

They come with a novelty toy inside too. It's quite clever and the reaction from kids is priceless (especially if it's something they havnt collected)

      • +9

Great, another piece of pointy plastic to step on. :/

        • lol. At least it's not as bad as lego pieces?

    • +2

there is toy inside so $50 per KG with 50 different toys & 50 Surprises for kids .. :)

I'm surprised OzBargainers do. I was just about to take my spinner case to Big W when I realised it is not 20 Kinder Surprise eggs for 99c but only 20g. I still regret not taking it to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/234154. I'm down to my last 700 milk chocolate bells.

It's pretty cool how they paint the street names on the roads in the UK…

        • They probably have the Google watermark too.

        • @agentsmith:

Do they need to pay Google to use their watermark on the roads ?

  • I assume this price ends today? I forgot to ask when it ends.

  • What's the usual price?

    • +1

      $2

      • -2

        With a slice of genderification

  • +2

These pink eggs are usually Hello Kitty surprises

The quality/crativity/ingenuity of the toys has deteriorated dramatically over the years I reckon. The recent Star Wars run was pretty ordinary, and they were all they had in my area for months. Used to buy one or two a week for the little fella, but with little variation it got a bit boring. Back in the '90's some of the Kinder Suprises were magnificent little engineering feats, these days it's more "put a sticker on a mini teddybear with no moving parts" or "clip the halves of this car together…..again".

    Box of 24?
Unless you have a biiiiig family, you're going to see diminishing returns on the surprise factor if you give these out regularly

Part of the magic of these was going to the supermarket, 'chancing' upon a kinder surpise at the checkout, and begging mum for one. 9/10 she'd block it, but every once in a while.. she'd drop her guard and let a ball past. VICTORY! Another goal for kid outlander. What a legend..

If she just gave me one every week, I'd have taken it, but it would have just been another piece of chocolate to me.

    • lol this was fantastically spot on

    • Another goal for kid outlander. What a legend..

How many yearsmonths ago was this?

      • +2

Months? Years? No, this was this morning…

    • +2

      Lol

We are putting these in those birthday lolly bags

    • Obviously they are making YouTube videos opening these said eggs, $24 for $1m profit! Score!

So now that marijuana is legal in many US states is this the next big contraband item people will smuggle?……

  • +3

Get rid of these and bring back the original yowies.

    • Too bad they relaunched it in America. Sad times.

      • +1

using awful american chocolate and surprisingly good animal toys.

  • Not sure about the spending for 24 kinder but that equates to $23.76cents

If it was me I would spend on
$3 bucks on the 50% cadbury giant block special,
$2 bucks on saturdays 22 million lotto, (not sure if you can buy 1 game)
$6 bucks on a tub of discounted branded ice cream,
$12.99 for dinner kfc special (5 pieces original and 5 pieces chicken strips)

At least you don't have to worry about stepping on the toys and tonight's dinner is settled!

  • Stores open midnight??
In all states all stores was going to go to a store to geab something on thurs morning but if i can go before even better.
As item might be there by morning.
Will it say on its open times if you google online?

  • Thank you :) brought some for the little one

  • +1

The pink ones today should be My Little Pony? (I bought 5 today) but that was from woolworths so may be different. I wish they had a big w here because I would spend at least 50 bucks on these.

  • Asked if it was store specific as I didn't see it in their catalogue…

Hats off to you good sir!

  • +2

It wasn't store specific. i went in to buy 3 before this was posted (because they are my little pony) it said $2. scanned at 99c so went and got more. i like the chocolate and i don't find myself eating more than one compared to getting a block of chocolate and eating the whole thing.

  • Still 99c at my local big W.

  • There's heaps at Southland Vic for 99c

  • Bought some at eastgardens today, opened one and found out the toys r not little pony ones, it's those zoo animal ones,,,,disappointed,,, and noticed that they have short expiry dates til Aug only…😭
