Gold Coast airport question

Hi all, flying out of OOL tomorrow and trying to find the answer online with no luck, wondering if someone can assist.

From what I can see is they have only the one terminal for both domestic and international flights.

Is it correct that we will therefore be subject to international security screening? Just trying to manage our language, so seeing if we'll need to put toiletries in checked baggage or not.

Thanks in advance!

  • Just put in checked baggage anyway.

    • We would, but somehow the in laws managed to go well and truly past their allowance on the way here.

Leaving Melbourne we were able to carry on, so just seeing if we can do it on the way back.

The airport is divided up, so if you're on a domestic flight you should be screened through the domestic one where the limits don't apply. So shouldn't be an issue.

    • Cheers mate. Appreciate it.

Yeah the international screening and gates is tiny and off to one side. The main terminal area is all domestic.

When I have flown internationally from OOL I had to get through domestic security AND then also go through the international security.

yep this. if you are flying internationally, you need to clear the domestic security, then past that is the international customs and security.

the airport is one main area, that can be separated by closing a screen door.

International departures go through the domestic security screening first, then proceed through customs into the international gate lounge.
International arrivals go though immigration and customs and exit directly to a separate arrivals greeting area at the north end of the terminal
