  • it's a pity sca don't stock the bird wipes.

    • I just use Fast Glass solely for that purpose, actually use Meguiars for the windscreen heh. Are the wipes much better?

      • they aren't glass wipes; they're basically for cleaning bird dirt (or other sticky crap like splattered bugs, insect droppings, tree sap) off any part of the car. i can use one wipe quite a few times if i'm not cleaning up after a bird, provided i roll up the packet tightly enough :)

        • I just soak some toilet paper and place ontop of bird poop to rehydrate it for an hour or so. Then it wipes off with ease.

        • Just make sure you don't do that out in the hot sun otherwise you'll end up with TWO problems.

@darkage: lol and in that hour it will have etched into your paint. Bird shit is nasty; it begins damaging your paint the moment it lands but you want to let it fester there some more?

Sure, if you have a car you don't care about you'd just use whatever cheapo methods. But for my car, I don't cheap out on car care stuff as I've better things to do than to continually polish out paint defects caused by bird/insect droppings ;)

        • @nickxau: well of course…detailing 101. i'm not that lunatic who washes their car out in direct sunlight either :p

        • @nickxau:

          Cars always under shade.

        • @tdw:

I normally take off bird crap as soon as I see it. Haven't seen any effects of etching to the naked eye yet. I might have to bring out the microscope.. My 2011 family car has enough orange peel in it, so it might be hard to notice.

    • Quick detailer and a microfiber cloth is good for cleaning up droppings.

      • yeah i do carry a mini detailing kit in my car. but the bird wipes are just more effective at cleaning up the tougher crap and i don't have to worry about laundering the microfiber

  • Good price for the Hd wax kit

It is very good price! Just picked mine up from Supa thief. Hope its as good as all the reviews claim.

For a non-boutique product, I find it gives excellent shine and easy to use as well. moderate durability is probably the only downside

its not worth it for its price. its quite dirty to buff off. i still prefer super resin + extra gloss (sealant).

        • For a brand new car, would I be better off using the extra gloss first?

        • +1

@megawatt101: brand new car doesnt mean its in prestine condition, given your car must have been in car yard somewhere.. So its better to polish first then put the extra gloss. Polish is the key of 80% of the gloss. Protection like wax / sealant / paint protection added the gloss and durability..

Autoglym Interior Shampoo is amazing stuff.

  • Thanks for the deal, can't figure out how to use the $10 from joining their loyalty program; when I do, I'll be purchasing the shampoo and conditioner because it has amazing reviews on amazon UK.

  • Nice..any idea what is the difference between the shampoo wash and shampoo and conditioner (apart from the obvious that is)?

    • +1

The shampoo is more bubbly and a dedicated cleaner and the shampoo conditioner doesn't foam up much but leaves a shinier finish on the car. I have the shampoo conditioner but I haven't had the plain shampoo one before, I haven't even seen it until recently, its on the UK website but not the AU one.

      Bodywork Shampoo

Bodywork Shampoo is an easy to use, safe pH neutral formulation.
The rich foam quickly breaks down and removes everyday contaminants from your vehicle.
This shampoo is free from any rinse aids or gloss enhancers, and is focused on just one task - cleaning.
The gentle, but effective cleaning formulation, safely removes common traffic dirt and contaminants from exterior surfaces, without compromising existing polish, wax and sealant layers.
For a long lasting shine, finish your wash with a coat of Rapid Aqua Wax.

      Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner

It isn’t the most glamorous task, but every external clean begins with a really good, thorough car wash.
Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner is a pH neutral formulation. It is packed with active ingredients which clean your vehicle, without stripping away any polish or wax you have previously applied.
Just add two capfuls to a 10L bucket of water. The shampoo can be used with warm or cold water and combines cleaning power with suds, allowing the sponge to glide over surfaces.
Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner contains a water repellent film. As you rinse off the shampoo the film stays behind causing the water to sheet off the surface, helping you to dry the car quicker.
Finish off the wash process with a Microfibre Drying Towel or if this is a maintenance wash, a coat of Aqua Wax for the perfect finish.
Pro Tip: Do not wash your car in direct sunlight, the shampoo may dry on and you will end up rushing the job.
