  • Just had a price drop only a couple of days ago. Great value!

  • Does anyone know if these machines can have Linux installed on them?

I think it'd make a nice on-the-go programming machine, but don't think thats possible with the ChromeOS.

    • It was possible with older chrome books with Intel(x8/x64) Processors. I think it should be still possible for new devices. But there is possibility that Terminal was disabled.

I do some of my development on a 10" Asus Chromebook Flip. It's Rockwell RK3188 not even x86. You need to

      1. Enable "developer mode" to get shell from Terminal. I use Crosh Window
      2. Install crouton and then install the Linux distro of your choice along side ChromeOS.
      3. Run enter-chroot and you are in full blown Linux environment.

I do mostly Python & Golang dev on it. RK3188 is slow but usable.
