Not sure if this is a targeted offer, but I can see it when I logged in to my Amex account. I think it's for Amex issued cards.

Thanks to altomic for the code, which means you get $100 off for $170 Spend. I decided to change the title as I don't think OzBargainers will miss the free $50. - Removed this part as the code is no longer valid

Any possibility to buy Visa / MC or other gift cards ?

  • I have it too on Amex issued card.

    • Is there a link leading to there ?

  • Not in my amex offer list :(

  • Looks like Cmaster site has been ozbargained already?

  • +29

    combine it with this

if the order is over $120 then use 50YELLOW to get $50 off

    make an order for $170+ - $50 (50YELLOW) = $120+ - $50 amex

    • Combining the 2 offers make the Haselgrove Switch GSM cheaper than what Vinomofo ($14.50 at VM). Can't say I'm not tempted.

      • I tried an old $100 off $220 code on the Haselgrove - saadly expired - which would have a fantastic deal.

        • Tried calling them up and request the code to be extended? I've heard they may entertain such requests.

        • +1

@mini2: too late I've bought the Pirie NV. The code was 123450PROMO - it was working a couple of weeks ago.

        • @litoria: real pity this has expired.

        • @litoria:

Oh I was under the impression they've sent you some codes. Oh well that one is definitely gone.

    • damn, code doesn't work anymore.. :(

  • +1

crap I can't see it… anyone got a manual linK?

    • I bought two cases with GC (got them at 10% off)
It's $77 a case, so still better value buying separately…
I hope the wine is drinkable though, it's promising from Clare of Taylors

      • It may be better option for someone who wanted to take that deal.

    • do you have a code for -$50?

  • I don't have it on my NAB or CBA cards.

    • Nothing on NAB platinum

    • Does level make a difference? I have NAB platinum and CBA diamond.

  • Not appearing for my ANZ issued AmEx.

  • Do Cellarmasters sell Supermarket gift cards?

Anyone tried purchasing gift cards and is there gift cards only usable at Cellarmasters?

    • Wonder if this is just a WISH gift card :P

Could go to a Woolies and check before purchasing online.

      • +1

Doesn't seem like you can buy them online.

        • Forgot to link

          https://www.cellarmasters.com.au/gift-card

Where can I buy Cellarmasters Gift Cards?
Our Gift Cards are available to purchase by phone (1800 505 250), at Australia Post outlets across the country and most Woolworths supermarkets.

        • @abc:

If it is one of these (scroll to bottom), it will be a WISH card 100%

          https://everydaygiftcards.com.au/gift-cards/brand-gift-cards

Need an alco (as gift card will still be useful if not a WISH card) to confirm though :P

        • @abc:
Not sure I'm following you. The wish card you posted is on a different website and won't be eligible to any credits?

        • @abc:

doesnt actually confirm if a CM g/c would work at a regular woolies.

        • +1

          @ninetyNineCents:

I think I'm going to take the plunge. We have all used DM cards at Woolies previously so I can't see how this would be any different.

Brand Gift Cards - Valid for purchases across the entire Woolworths group. (According to the EGC website. The specific T&Cs are a little murky but I'm reasonably confident)

        • @gimme: This credit offer is only available online and I cannot see a place in the website where you can buy gift cards online. As per abc's comment above, clicking on Gift Cards link will take you to a page telling you to call them to buy gift cards — so it isn't exactly an online purchase (thus won't qualify for the credit).

        • @scrypton:

Ah ok fair enough. I didn't read the T&Cs properly. Still tempted to give it a shot though as they have also previously said (other deals) that it doesn't apply to gift cards and it has clearly worked.

        • @gimme:

As long as the merchant is Cellarmasters a phone order should be ok shouldnt it?

My gut feel tells me it will be WISH card. Just have to double check at Woolies amd AusPost.

Edit: Read this is online only lol. Actually dont think now phone order will work :S

        • +3

          @abc:

As long as I can use the card at Woolies etc I'll take the gamble with missing out on the rebate. I'm just going into a CB shop 2moro to give it a shot. Nothing to lose. Will report back.

only on my Quantas FF cards, not V or NAB
all cards have different offers too

  • It actually offers to Qantas AMEX cards too. I enrolled myself just now.

  • Soooo any recommendations on which wines/packs are a great deal?

  • I did not get this offer.
wonder if they have some sort of rule on which cards get which offer.

  • Any thoughts on "Dolan Family Wines Barossa Shiraz 2011? Seems to have a few good reviews

Special offer once i selected "best mix dozen" for $99 is selected: Dolan goes from $240 for a half-dozen to $150. Was thinking of stacking 50Yellow and Amex as suggested

    Thanks for post OP

    • +1

2011 was a difficult year - and probably harder for a smaller vineyards to cope.

  • +5

Thanks OP. Bought a $99 mixed red (14 bottles) and $69 fantastic value dozen coming to $170.40 (with handling fee) it means total cost is $70.40 which is $2.70 / bottle. Not expecting the greatest wine but I'm sure it will be drinkable and lots of different wine to try.

    • Where is the $69 fantastic value dozen? Can you post the link? I couldn't find that…:(

  • Thanks chiefbodge I did the same as you. Great deal OP, thanks.

  • It looks like for Qantas Branded AMEX issued cards only!

  • seems Qantas Branded AMEX only

    • Nope; got it on my DJs AMEX

  • Got the offer on my plat edge.
    Not on velocity Amex though

  • Can't see it on any of my cards (I have three).

  • I got the offer in my 2 Amex cards - Qantas and David Jones. Thanks OP.

  • +1

Haselgrove Switch and Mumm gone. Was gonna order the Mumm :(

  • On my (Platinum Reserve - not bank issued) Amex, and the code worked as well. Thanks!

  • Tried to use the 50YELLOW code at checkout and get a message no longer valid.

    • sad but saved me.

    • Me too - 50YELLOW code no longer valid.

  • I've got ANZ Amex, do you know how I can see these sorts of deals? I'm a secondary card holder, so maybe I'm not receiving the emails.

    • +1

      amex connect?

      • That looks like the shot, thank you :)

  • Anyone know of a promo code that works? 50YELLOW invalid

  • Does anyone know if you can split payment at the checkout? They only seem to sell by the case with the cheapest being around $80. Would be nice to get 3 cases for $240 and split it between 2 amex cards. Otherwise I may as well step upto the $120 plus per case range and buy in 2 seperate transactions.

    • To answer my own question. No you can't split payment and if you enter a giftcard it will use the maximum value of the giftcard. Best way is to figure out what you want then order an eGift card for the amount over $120, putting the remainder on AMEX.

  • So Gift card gets the cashback for sure? Sometimes they are done through third party

If so can buy one now and then wait for a really good promo like Spend $219 get $100 off to use the gift card

  • +1

Anyone know if the gift card is just a wishcard (like Dan Murphys)? I didn't see a reply from the people who tried it above

    • They don't sell a gift card. You have to buy wine to get the deal. You can however use a gift card to pay the amount over $120 but you don't get the option of how much to deduct from the card. So if your order total is say $140 you would need to have a gift card with $20 or less on it so that your amex is charged $120 to get the $50 back.

You could run your wish card down at Woolworths to get it to the right balance.

      • They don't sell a gift card.

Did you actually try buying a gift card over the phone?

You have to buy wine to get the deal.

Most other amex deals still work, if you buy a gift card, since Amex doesn't have a way to figure out what you bought.

You could run your wish card down at Woolworths to get it to the right balance.

What would be the point of that? I might as well buy groceries.

        • The Amex deal is for online only, so it may not work over the phone.

With regards to the wish gift card what I was trying to say was that if your purchase on Cellarmasters came to more than $120 you could use a wish gift card purchased at 5% off for the remainder. However when entering a gift card it will use the full balance then charge the rest to your credit card, so you need to ensure your gift card is equal to or less than the amount over $120.

  • Where are the cellarmasters stores?

    Going by their FAQ:

"The Cellarmasters difference is that we don’t have any retail stores. We deliver wine directly to you from our cellar in South Australia’s Barossa Valley."

I tried phoning up to buy a gift card … but no one seemed to know anything about how to process it.

  • Just got an email from them about a survey after I collected the wines, and then there's a $20 voucher upon completing the survey.

  • This is what I've managed to figure out:

    • The deal will work over the phone. Cellarmasters is an online only business and the call center just enters your credit card on to their website.
    • They can only sell physical gift cards in denominations of $50 or $100 in the call center. The payment will be processed by cellarmasters (not some other woolworths entity like everyday rewards), so it should be eligible for the Amex cashback. The $50 denominations were out of stock, when I called. Buying $200 of cards, just to get the $50 cashback didn't seem worth it to me.
    • It's not clear whether the gift cards sold in the call center are the same as the ones sold in the Woolworths/AusPost/Everyday Rewards. I have an sneaky suspicion that they might just be a 'coupon code' that they send for free with a case purchase, so they can't be stacked with another discount.
    • If you have two AMEX cards then I guess if they can split 300 into two lots of $150 isn't too bad. You could then just wait out until they had a good offer.
But it won't be any good if it's a Coupon code so a bit of a risk

      • Nah - I already asked about split payments … they can't split across 2 credit cards, but they can split gift card + balance on another credit card.

Cheapest filler on their website seems to be a $40 set of glasses.

        • Cheapest filler on their website seems to be a $40 set of glasses.

          $29.98, $30.48 :)

  • Yep, not available for CBA Diamond cards.
