Need to Get 4 Return Tickets for PER - YYZ

I need four return tickets Perth-Toronto-Perth.

But they can be at any time from July-September, and the trip duration is flexible also, though 2-3 weeks is what I want.

Most travel sites (Zuji, Kayak etc) make you start by putting in a departure and return date (maybe with a plus-or-minus 3 days), and presumably if there is a flight $2000 cheaper on the very next day, then you just won't see it.

So what I want is a travel site that lets me say "Perth to YYZ anytime in July/Aug/Sep for anywhere from 14-21 days".

I looked at the Travel FAQ here (on OzBargain) and it led me to "adioso.com". This allowed me to specify a MONTH and trip duration of "about 2 weeks" or "about 3 weeks", and using this I found some Delta tickets for about $1270 return. But at the same time I found some Cathay Pacific tickets for $1333, which are much better for me because the Cathay flights are single-stop and so end up about 7 hours shorter than the Delta flight. And the Cathay ones avoid LAX which is always a plus.

But now I've lost the Cathay tickets, and can't remember the exact search I used (even for adioso, you still have to specify some things)

Does anyone here know of any other site that has similar or better functionality?

Skyscanner will let you select an entire month and show you the cheapest return ticket, you could just perform separate searches for July, Aug and Sept?

    • Interesting… if you search on SkyScanner for an entire month, it gives you a grid for each day of the departure month and another for the return month. Then anything that has been recently searched for (by other people) is populated with a price, but for PER-YYZ the grid squares are mostly blank (probably not a very common route!) and so I have to click on them manually one at a time.

But also SkyScanner doesn't get the $1270 Delta flights for some reason?

Though it has picked up some $1400 Etihad flights which are also just one-stop.

  • The Kayak.com website (not the .com.au) lets you search by flex month. Just choose flexible dates then flex month. Select your earliest departure date and the approximate length of trip (ie 14-21 days). This will give you results in a calendar format with the dates with the best prices.
After finding the best priced date check the same dates on IWanTthatFlight as they often have the same fares for slightly less through online agents.

  • Avoid Delta because of all the messing around with TSA and massive waits. I fly to Toronto every year. Ethihad & emirates are my preference, then China southern, then Cathay. Seriously, avoid delta and the us to make the trip way better.

    • We usually go Cathay, but wife found amazing Etihad $1071 return but couldn't get in touch before they'd vanished…

  • If you want one-stop from PER to YYZ you could also try one of the gulf carriers (Emirates, Etihad, Qatar). And the total time on the plane is not actually much more than going via HKG, because it's only about 1,500 km further. Not sure what their pricing is like though, but maybe they will have a sale soon?

Anyway Google Flights is a pretty good way to browse prices (in USD). You can look for prices for a 15 day trip and if you just click in the date field it gives you an awesome chart (which may take a little while to load). However I don't think it indexes as many airlines as Skyscanner.

Would you be willing to fly via another city in USA? Air New Zealand has return fares from Perth to Houston from $1172 (e.g. on 1 to 19 of September).
