Yamaha A/V Receiver RX-A3050 $2295 + Free Shipping from Todds Hifi Brisbane

60

This is the top of the line in Yamaha's outgoing range of premium A/V receivers. Todds HiFi have a special deal on the last of their stock of RX-A3050 units for only $2295

The replacement unit, the RX-A3060 isn't due until September and there is relatively little change between the two models.

In brief, the new model will get an upgrade to it's on-board calibration system "YPAO", a new HD interface and DSP available for Dolby Atmos and will actually LOSE support for Ipod/Apple devices via USB. The output power, DACs and may other features remain the same.
For a full list of changes, check out the official Yamaha America explanation here

  • Any deal for the A2050?

What does this machine do exactly ?

Anyone care to share what it does in short ?!

All the details are too technical

PS: is this something just to make the sound sound awesomer??

  • any deals on soavos

  • Dam i want one (amp) to go into my converted fireplace but they all seem to be more then 30 cm deep. I have heaps of width and height but really need somthing 25cm deep or less (because of cabeling at the back) anyone have a suggestion base on this limitation.

Given the dominance of wall hanging flat panels it seems odd no one makes a "thin" stand up amp or am I missing an intrinsic benifit of the flat VCR shape?

When Todds HIFI was in noosa, they inspired me to become an electronic engineer.

This personal and random useless fact you've just read, has just wasted a moment of your life!

  • F(@#$(@&#$! bought this for $2800 a few months ago and now a huge drop.. FML!

    • Sell it at a discount with warranty $2700
      Then buy this.
It might not be worth the effort to some but it would pay off for the willing.

    • now i know there ARE really someone out there who would spend this amount of money just to hear awesomer sound~~~

    • We picked one of these babies up from West Coast HiFi in Joondalup for $2425, and we thought we had a great deal after shopping online and in the HiFi stores, this is a great price, and having moved to this from our older Yamaha RX3800, I must say that the sound field does sound and feel more realistic using the same speakers we already have (6 X floor standing Dragon, one centre legend and front and rear B&W ASW1000 subs). We had used the supplied microphones to allow each of the receivers to set the levels on all speakers.

Re warranty, if you pay with a Platinum credit card, doesn't that double the supplied warranty too?

  • A3050 vs V3079, which one to go? Why?

    • +1

I have an Aventage. Triple the warranty which came in handy for me. Had a fault 2.9 years in on mine and they covered it due to the extended warranty

      • 3079 comes with 2 years warranty and the Aventage 4 years. That's double. How did you get 6 years on yours?

        • when i got mine the normal line had 1 year and the aventage was 3 years.

  • Sorry folks, all units have now been spoken for. We have a few orders without deposits that may become available in the near future. We will update this post if that happens, but for now we will expire this bargain.
