Microsoft Surface Pro 4 CoreM/4GB/128GB $1079 @ JB Hi-Fi

41

Just received an email from JB with lowered price for Surface Pro 4.

Just checked OW site still $1,181 so possibly a price beat from them.

NET price is higher than below deal but in case you don't need a HN card.

Yeah my fault - sorry guys.

  • I wish they could do a Core M Surface in the Surface 3 form factor for 500-550. I would be so in.

    • Supposedly Core M CPUs are ridiculously expensive to buy from Intel, so that's probably never going to happen :/

      • The cost of the core m is around $300 already.

    • Surface 3 was more expensive than that, wasn't it?

That said, I probably would be all over one if they could actually do decent 10 ish inch tablet like that at that price.

But this is the best performing core m in the market atm. Beating core m5 or m7 found in other oem models in terms of graphic performance.

    • aren't they all have the same graphic performance?

      • No, the physical design of the surface form factor and the firmware setting of the tdp allowance gives this model higher room to perform under stress and last longer before throttle.

        Notebookcheck review

        • core m3 > m5 and M7? wut?

are you simply referring to the foobar MS did with the poor heat management on the higher models?

i.e. theoretically theyre better than m3 but in practice they get throttled to worse than m3?

        • @furythree:

Yes, other oem models have more restricted tdp limit of igpu in their core m products.

Pure cpu wise, however, you will still see m5/m7 models beat sp4 m3 a little margin.

The review website i linked has covered most of the core m models (miix, spectre x2, xps12, tabpro s etc.), you can see their performance in comparison.

  • Same price as hn and Microsoft and been posted previously.

Unrelated but what is the reasonable price for second hand still has 2 years Australian warranty surface pro 4,i7 256gb ssd 16gb ram?

    • I guess depends on the condition?

  • Microsoft Surface Pro 4 or Ipad Pro 12.9? Which is better?

    • 2 different machines. the sp4 is better

but its like saying what is better BMW M3 or Mitsubishi Lancer

    • As a larger iPad = iPad Pro 12.9
As a device that you can do works on = Surface Pro 4

At least, that's what I think, from the OS differences and the hardware differences.

    • SP4 hands down. iPad Pro is just an iPad with support for expensive peripherals. Still runs a mobile OS (iOS). You wouldn't want to do any productivity work on it. Only get this if you want a bigger iPad.

SP4 uses full Windows, includes the pen (keyboard is still overpriced unfortunately). Apple charges $165 for the pen and it doesn't attach to the tablet magnetically as far as I know. This is a true tablet/laptop hybrid device. The iPad Pro is just a tablet with a tablet OS and tablet SOC. SP4 has desktop OS and desktop (well laptop) grade CPU.

Given they are similarly priced, it should be a no brainer, get the SP4. Also, SP4 supports expandable storage.

  • no deal bro its been 1079 for their entry level model all week.
if you really wanted one you should have bought it from harvey norman yesterday for the $108 gift card
