Where to Buy USB Heated Gloves?

Does anyone know any Australian stores that sell usb heated gloves? my fingers are always cold whenever I'm typing. I prefer not to buy from international stores mainly cause it takes longer to deliver and shipping is expensive

  • Interesting, I to get stone cold fingers while typing. Coles sells those hot hands, Not gloves but defiantly help!

My Aunty used to say cold fingers or toes, then put a hat on. Rather than e-gloves, try getting the rest of yourself warm first.

    • actually my body is warm while fingers are still cold

      • My fingers get cold too, but I usually try to heat the whole room first.

The reason fingers get cold first is because the body has slowed circulation to them to maintain the temperature of your core and brain. Put a beanie on, this is where most of the heat escapes in cold weather because that is where your body is pushing all the heat to.

  • wow these are a thing
I suppose with powerbanks, usb things aren't so gimmicky.

  • Portable monitor, heated gloves … I'm gonna have to get a bigger powerbank!

    • Interesting. I am thinking of getting a portable monitor. Which one did you get?

  • some powerbanks don't recognize my usb heating pads and wont stay/turn on. It will work happily plugged in to the usb charger sitting in the wall socket tho.

  • Merged from Looking for Heated Gloves

Winter is coming soon and usually my fingers get cold from typing on the keyboard during winter so I'm looking for some heated gloves to warm my hands. I was thinking of the usb heated gloves but the I don't like having cords since I could easily accidentally pull the cord out if my hands aren't near where the usb hub is. Are there any other heating type gloves? battery gloves look too thick to use for typing unless there are thin ones?

I think you need a room heater dude. Or a car of toughen up. One or the other.

      • I can see you get-off trolling the OzB forums making snide remarks, so the following is not for you.

There are plenty of reasons that people might need heated gloves for typing that have nothing to do with room temperature - including Raynaud’s Phenomenon and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

If the OPs fingers get 'cold' I'm pretty sure it's to do with temperature.

    • There are definitely other options (incl thin glove liners powered by lithium-ion packs), but they are kind of exxy.

Suggestion: have a chat to your state's arthritis support peak body. They'll be able to point you in the direction of a retailer to give you some options. Of course, this is OzBargain and one of the benefits of going to a medical equipment supplier for your gloves is you won't pay GST on your purchase ;-)

You made the exact same post 1 year ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/254751

      • Winter coming around again I suppose.

    • Best option I can come up with is heated glove liners because they're designed to go underneath another pair of gloves, but even those aren't particularly small and would probably get in the way when you're typing.

Are pocket hand warmers an option? They seem by far your cheapest and option and can be re-used over and over again.

    • Have you tried typing with gloves on? I don't think it's very practical. How about put a small fan heater next to the keyboard/computer?

    • Have you considered this being an issue of blood circulation to the extremities of your limbs; have you tried hand exercises/seeing a doctor?

    • My Aunty always used to say if your fingers are cold, put a hat on. You lose lots of heat out your head, then your body tries to keep your brain warm enough by shutting down circulation to extremities. Fingers and toes are first to get cold.

My fingers usually get cold using the computer in winter as well. Try to keep arms moving to keep the circulation around your fingers.

    • I see you are located in Brisbane which does not have the coldest winters around. But if you have a medical condition which causes poor circulation to the fingers then you are best off forgetting heated gloves. Go for layers I would suggest a light polypro thermal glove with a fingerless mitt over the top. In winter working with dogs here we use these http://www.thetinshed.co.nz/products/lothlorian-merino-possu… absolutely fantastic.

    • I tend to sit the laptop on top of one hand and type with the other :) You can get quite fast!
