Scorptec - Acer Aspire E5 Core i7 Notebook $899 + Shipping (or Free Pickup: Melbourne) - EOFYS

50

Was just commenting on another post when I found this deal. Not bad for an Aspire with an 8gb of RAM, i7 process and a 1TB HDD.

I'd probably look at getting this and then swapping out the HDD to a SSD.

ST

P.S - Kogan is running a special on the Samsung 850 EVO (500gb) for only $199 kogan

will be $999 tomorrow at 10AM. But 720p display and no SSD and also stingy 4 cell battery.

        • None of these laptops would win a beauty contest. Don't know why HP persist with their big rounded corners.

          @worldwidehappiness:

FYI the Probook unlike the usual Pavilion crap, is a business notebook and it boasts better build quality and keyboards. Hence the slightly premium price.

It's comparable to a Dell Latitude 5000 series

      • I would stretch and get the Lenovo …… it has FHD and an SSD to get you started. opening the e5 is pain……. has plastic clips all around the edges and a pain to put back together due to how keyboard attaches….. might be worth googling being buying about take apart a and putting back together.

    • Hmmm good find. Only $300 bucks more the 192gb SSD is a bit small for my liking though (didn't even know they made a 192gb…)

This thing is gross. 768p display, tiny battery, cheap plastic build, no SSD, and it's heavy for the specs. I don't think just because 'whoopdy doo, even though every other spec sucks it has an ULV i7' justifies the price.

    • its also an Acer. You know Acer is quality.

      LOL

    I've got a budget of around $600.
What can people recommend for me

  • I would never buy an Acer product. They do not stand by cash back promises. I know multiple people that got screwed by them. They are just crooks.

    • I bought an acer a few years ago and got the cashback. It did take a while to process but that's normal with all cashbacks.

      • Count yourself lucky.
