Has anyone done this? or is currently doing this?

Seems very easy to do this.

I would like to start doing this.

  • You've missed the boat mate. It is now an overcrowded market full of people competitively selling the same products at the lowest possible prices.

      Dammm

So I shouldnt buy 10k of iTunes cards now?

    • Lot of leg work to buy the items.

I'll bet some of them use Ozbargain to get in on the best deals.

  • Hard to compete with the Chinese students/nationals as well. Not saying impossible, but hard. They are from China, speak the language, have connections etc.

  • apparently the hot item is weetbix at the moment.

      $50 a box I hear

I need some of that action.

Me too! I think coles has them everyday for $4.50

        • @Turd:

That must be why a lot stuff flies off the shelf the moment it goes on sales here.

      • I was talking to my friends in China about it the other day. 1.5kg boxes are $15-$30 AU at the local markets currently.

    • So, maybe that is why we have not seen a Sanitarium Weetbix sale for such a long time. Uncle Toby's version yes, but not Weetbix. I suppose they won't have to go on sale, if there is high demand all the time.

  • If you're unfamiliar with how the game works, or if you dont have close contacts over there, you could end up being scammed.

      Have you tried it?

Seems the risk is higher for buyer…

      Buyer: Pay item.
Seller: Takes money, goes to coles buys item.
      Buyer: Waits.
      Seller: Ships….

Can the Buyer take money out of the Sellers account?

  • nah, forget it, Bega have it sorted after they lost the coles contract

I'd love to do it but apparently they only trust friends/family and you have to be Chinese. I see these shops setup with boxes ready to send all over the place. All run by young Chinese (probably students). I envy them, they must be making a fortune. If anyone has contacts and needs staff or business partner, well feel free to contact me :D

  • As far as I know, this business model is like they post ads on wechat and sell it to friends and relatives. If friends and relatives think these are good ones, they may recommend to other people. Then your business expands.

There is indeed a great need of foreign products in China. Taobao is a better choice than wechat if you don't have potential customers.

    P.S. I'm Chinese.

    • Don't you need a Chinese bank account to accept payment on Taobao?

      • +1

Chinese bank account is needed. You can also have an alipay which is like PayPal.

  • You should've bought BKL at the end of 2013 and sold it January 2016.

  • Has anyone registered a business account via WeChat? Any feedback would be welcomed on the process.

Why is a chinese bank account required for the WeChat payment portal?
