I don't think you can compare this to supermarket meat, from personal experience butchers generally stock a better grade of meat than the sub-par stuff from supermarkets. (with exceptions of course)

I was comparing it purely on price and not quality.

you get good butchers and bad butchers.

I myself expect butcher prices to at least be in line with Coles if not cheaper.
So this my point when comparing.

If you'd like me compare it butcher to butcher that's a bit more difficult but VIC market prices are even cheaper.

Coles meat is the best of all the supermarkets due to the way they source their meat.

Aldi and tasman buy the excess on the markets and so do some other butchers.

Here's a little bit about the difference with our meats if you're looking at what we do differently to most producers.

Pure Black Natural Angus beef is predominantly grown in regions renowned for abundant rainfall, cool temperate climates, clean air and a pristine environment.

Young cattle thrive on green pastures in a relaxed environment to ensure their meat is beautifully soft and tender without the need of added hormones.

Our meat is all about saying 'no' to shortcuts to achieve a true paddock to plate eating experience. No added growth hormones, no use of antibiotics and no last minute finishing all contribute to a different way that delivers an outstanding eating experience every time.

Australia is home to many premium breeds of beef, but the real king is Australian Pure Black Angus Beef, trusted in fine dining restaurants across the world.

        • I was comparing it purely on price and not quality

Fairly fundamental error in logic right there.

    • Good on you for your work. A butcher does not have to be expensive just because he is not a supermarket.

Coles Vs straight from the farm? riiiight great comparison there.

We recently switched to farm fresh boxes and the difference in quality of meat is noticeable. And the boxes go a long way.

    • Not sure why original commenter is downvoted. They researched and showed that this deal is cheaper than subpar Coles meat.

      • Goes to show what assumption does. The OP listed an individual selling price of $230 and the original commenter found their original value of $184 at coles. With poor examination as to why, one assumes it was to compare the two 'original values'.

Good to show people they can get better quality meat (in this case cheaper also) than a supermarket but not stating what he was comparing caused some confusion and more time for the commenter to have to jump on and then clarify…

  • Has anybody had meat delivered to regional areas? Just wondering if it'll still be OK 3-4 days after shipping?

    • Our meats are not only shipped in refrigerated vans, but also in ice chests.

Further to this, the meat is all vacuum packaged, or suous vide, meaning it generally lasts much longer in the fridge than your run of the mill grocery-store meats!

If you have any questions please do get in touch on our facebook page so we can determine your shipping area!
