There aren't trading cards or anything, and it actually costs ME data to download it and take up (a lot of) space on my ipad.
You can simply start the download and stop right away and save it for later when you have WiFi connection.
If you're worried about using data use wi-fi, if you're worried about wasting your wifi, go to a cafe which offers free wi-fi. If you can't be bothered to go to a cafe, tough shit.
Personally, i liked IB2 better than IB3
