BlackBerry Priv. Where to Buy?

Where is the cheapest place to buy a blackberry Priv in Australia?

I went to a few phone shops and none of them had it.

I got mine from T-Dimension late last year, it seems that they are cheaper than anyone on eBay atm. I don't think you'll find it anywhere in Australia unless you want it on a plan then Optus offer it however I don't think they'll sell it outright anymore (might be worth a try).

They are $100's cheaper in the US but they are the STV100-1 version and updates (to Android Marshmallow) can potentially be an issue as they are carrier versions, ideally you should get the STV100-3 version available in Aus/Asia.

    • Thats a shame. If only they made an updated design of this phone for 2016.

    • Another question.

Do you still have the Priv and are you happy with it?

      Is the speaker loud?

Yeah I still have the Priv, it was only released at the end of last year and in Australia at the start of this year. Very happy with it, the Android Marshmallow update did wonders for it as I found it a little laggy at times on lollipop but none of that now. BlackBerry are also releasing the monthly security updates for it faster than the Nexus. The priv has good specs and support so I wouldn't not buy it due to age as it's not old at all, the next phone they release will be a mid range all touch so judging by your comment below not something you want anyway. It's unfortunate the price hasn't dropped here like it has in the US, lack of availability seems to be the cause of that compared to other countries.

The speaker is fairly good, not mind blowing. I don't know what phones you have now but it's louder than my old Blackberry Z30 and also the Blackberry Leap but not as loud/good as the Blackberry Passport which was an amazing speaker.

You make jokes though I see this phone as more advanced than others in actual design. A slider phone with a physical keyboard and almost as thin as other phones without a physical keyboard and also has a curved god damn screen. All Samsung do is come up with stuff that is just gimmicks. I've had the s3, note 3 and s5 and was disappointed with all 3. My lg g4 was a great phone but died for no unexpected reason. Now that I have seen a physical keyboard, I want it!!

  • I am hanging for a cheap aus blackberry priv, I just can't afford to pay $700+ for it :(. I love my blackberry classic but the no apps thing is really starting to get to me.
