Best Place/Time to Look for Christmas Period Deals for Thailand

My wife and I are wanting to get away of the Christmas period to Thailand. We plan of leaving Dec 23rd/24th for 7 nights.

We knight prices will be inflated around this time but just wondering if anyone can suggest places to look for great deals.

If you find any hotel deal, look for a coupon code on this page because you can probably book the same hotel for at least 15% off (even if it's in USD).

For example there is currently a code which can be used for bookings until 31 December…

You could wait and see if there's any flight discounts but personally I don't think I would wait more than two or three months, especially if you can find a decent price in the meantime, because then the risk of the price rising is probably greater than it decreasing.

If you don't mind budget airlines, you may be able to get Jetstar to price-beat Scoot, but you would have to go via Singapore and you may need to book each leg separately.

As a side note, from a common sense point of view I'm assuming that Bali might actually be cheaper than Thailand over Christmas. Because Bali has far less European tourists and unlike Thailand it has no direct flights to Europe. I'm sure there will be droves of Europeans escaping their winter. Happy to be proved wrong though.

    • Thanks for the info!

We were tossing up between Bali and Thailand but wanted to steer cleer of any Zeeka virus risks as we may be likely to look at having kids in the next few years.

  • Did you end up finding any deals?

  • How much did you end up paying for tickets? Hoping to head to Thailand this Christmas period too and on the lookout for tickets!

  • How did you go?
