          @furythree:
30minutes of additional content cannot fix this abomination of crap.
I'd rather watch an episode of the old justice league cartoon, it's more coherent and has better writing than dreams within dreams within dreams within dreams.

        • @RI4V4N: ok bye then

          @RI4V4N: Guys relax… he's clearly quoting INCEPTION.

          @furythree:

The extended edition didn't make that much difference.

      • yes, not the worst, but also wasn't a good movie

  • Is this upscale?
If so, will it look better than normal bluray on a 4K TV?

    • 4K Tv's will upscale by default but you need a 4K bluray player to run it natively.

  • saw this the other night… average… thought man of steel was better

    $29.99 too much
    $hit movie

  • +1

I watched first hour of the movie, bored to death imho. Avoid I'd say.

    • Then you missed out on all the good bits. First hour is the setup, second hour is when the movie reaches its boiling point, third hour is when all hell breaks loose.

  • +1

Glad to see prices are coming down fast - Thought the Ultimate cut was good, This film is in fact mastered in 4K and not up-scaled from 2K - it's also the first UHD disc to utilise 100GB rather than 66GB. Expect the quality to be exceptional.

Sigh, I hate seeing bandwagons. This movie wasn't the greatest but it wasn't bad. It kept my interest for the whole 3 hours. A real shame with it being 3 hours and an important character was quite underdeveloped.

    • ***********WARNING: SPOILERS ***********

I dunno, they managed to develop Sups into a brooding emo teen that runs away yet again, and Batman into a murderous guy running around with a branding iron. Even Wonder Woman got to sulk for 100 years. I wish they had developed these characters a little less (i.e. not at all). These aren't the superheroes of my youth.

      • These aren't the superheroes in the current comics either.

      • +1

        Spoilers ahead

The character I was talking about was Wonder Woman.

She was seen three times for small 5 minute intervals IIRC before she suddenly decides to jump into the fight. I felt they forced her presence in the movie and made zero story sense until the last minute of the movie. If you didn't go into the movie knowing this movie was the setup for the new Justice League movie, you would think she was a completely wasted character.

        • +1

The character I was talking about was Wonder Woman.

and if you didn't actually know it was wonder woman at the end (like if you arent a comic book person), it was even more confusing/rediculous..
It was essentially some random woman who had appeared a few times with pretty much no story line input, and then miraculously turns up at the end to help save the world

Even my wife said 'whose that' and I said 'no idea' after having watched the whole movie

        • @SBOB:

and if you didn't actually know it was wonder woman at the end

You're completely right. I knew who she was only because of movie news. If I went in blind I would not have known.

        • @Dagmar:

I hear there are more hints in the extended edition, but yeah.

  • Poor Zack Snyder.

    • +1

just another name among the uwe bolls, michael bays, & paul ws andersons.

  • How do I get a refund on my time?

  • +1

Tell me, do you need? You will

  • Don't think they'll be able to give these away soon

  • whats lex's motivation for creating a doomsday…
not like he has another planet he can migrate to

    • +1

What is his motivation for anything he does?
Why get Batman and Superman to fight in the first place?
He doesn't seem to have any other evil intentions that either of those guys will get in the way of..
I spent three hours literally saying "why?" to myself…

    • that was the only flaw i could see in the movie that wasnt properly explained even in the ultimate cut

but based on his chat on the helipad with superman, i suspect it was because he had an abusive childhood due to his dad and that led to him being F'd up in the head

so hes crazy basically and has a thing against ppl with power

      • that was the only flaw i could see in the movie that wasnt properly explained even in the ultimate cut

        you missed a few then

        • -1

show me a movie that doesnt have a few flaws that isnt opinion based

and ill show you a critic that is full of shit

get off your elitist high horse and make a better movie then

        • @furythree: I liked the film, enough to pick it up on Blu Ray, but the movie obviously had some pretty huge logic flaws, particularly when it came to characters motivstions and actions.

        • @Jamie007: they werent as bad as ppl are making it out to be

and the UC changes the motivations to be clearer

batmans motivations have always been clear. just watch all the scenes with him and alfred

Lex is the only shitty character

      • batman … the world's greatest detective sets out to kill superman out of fear?

        I don't buy that…

        batman believes in killing now?
… didn't superman just save the entire planet in MoS

reasoning in the storyline was weak…
'martha'… why would superman call his mum by her name to batman… ugh

really wanted to like this movie too

        • it wasnt fear

          in the words of alfred

"That's how it starts. The fever. The rage. The feeling of powerlessness. That turns good men… cruel."
          watch this important scene again

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwiNzV6QMog

The "new rules" bit also refers to batman now "changed" to killing, implying that he used to be the batman everyones been whinging about who "doesnt kill"

In relation to batmans motivation of frustration and anger at superman. whos MOS actions was the final straw that broke the camel's back.

I think most people dont even pay attention to what the characters are saying half the time

        • +1

          'feeling of powerlessness' = fear?

have seen this movie multiple runs but the dialogue still feels like a contrived attempt/shoe horned to explain character motives

    • POSSIBLE SPOILERS..

Without giving SPOILERS for those who have yet to enjoy the ultimate cut. there are other beings in the universe at play in the film that may have not appeared as yet.
Just like in the MARVEL universe we have THANOS (introduced in Guardians of the galaxy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxwM-fzcYRg )but will be very involved in Avengers Infinity War 1 and 2 http://moviepilot.com/posts/3988017

It is believed lex is in contact with Either Darkseid or one of his general's,.
Watch the END of the Ultimate edition and you will see what I am talking about , "when LEX is captured*.
Darkseid will be a bigger part of the Justice League films.

Presumably he'd then kill Doomsday with Kryptonite? I don't know. All I know is that Batman is more of a villain in this film than Luthor. How messed up is that?

  • -2

    This movie is garbage.

  • TBH its not a good movie, but at this decent price I'm going to buy simply as a 4K film demo. There's no denying the film has beautiful visuals at times, and that scene were Batman goes on a murder rampage on some thugs in a building near the end is one of the best scenes I've seen in a movie all year. It's filmed like something out of The Raid, which I appreciate.

And, uh, you know, Wonder Woman is…attractive. And has a great musical theme.

    • +1

the ultimate cut is a fantastic watch

i watched it scene by scene side by side with the TC release and it was miles better

it still has its flaws, but it shouldve been the version that was released

  • +1

    Sanity still exists?

    • No

    • At the very least the website seems to.

  • Any other way to watch ultimate edition if I don't have a 4k TV or player?

    • +1

      Buy the non-4K version

    • Comes with a digital UV edition, that might work.

    • Yes it is released on Blu-ray also , just not in that pack..

  • I liked the armoured, iron man like bat man suit in this movie. The way he dragged supper man and walked was epic. Definitely buying the uncut version.

  • Incredibly annoying that the 4K version doesnt come with the 3D Blu Ray, so its an option of getting the regular blu ray with either the 3D or the 4K.

  • Another way to watch it would be to wait until the release date of July 20 LOL

  • Does UHD disk work on ps4 without 4k? Can it scale down and play the movie? Thanks.

  • Hopefully anyone here knows, but For WB movies, does that UV code also allows redeeming in Google Play Movies as opposed to JB HiFi Now, etc? I think Fox UV allows that…
