  Depends on how important dates/prices are to you.
  Pick your priorities now, and prepare to pull the trigger.

  It's great to get an awesome price… but it's also nice to have it booked.

  I've flown Melbourne to UK/Ireland return ~10x in 15 years, and paid ALL sorts of different prices. Last two times: My son was 4mths, and then 2.5yrs/old. It's different every time.

  Best price I've had was when AirAsia was new. <$1200 for two people, return.

  Just got back from Dubai/Dublin, where we paid $5015 for the 3 of us with specific dates (peak season, too), times, stops.

  1200 return for two - that's a steal!

  I've done it 4 times myself - with klm, Malaysia, Singapore, and Emirates. After doing one stop over I don't think I could go back to the first three airlines again. I'm fairly sure the cheapest I've had is 1800, but I've never had this long to book it in the past, and I've usually flown peak season.

  I might see how the next month plays out and keep my fingers crossed that qatar or Emirates have another big sale.

  $1577 is not too bad a price. You are booking miles out from the date though. I'd say you can wait a bit for another sale to come around in the next 9 months. I assume this is the sale you're talking about?. That's book now for November, so I'd say in about 5 months the same sale will come around haha.
