@furiousgeorge: They sold 100 on their eBay store and its currently not able to be purchased from thier eBay store however you should be able to buy it from their own website.

The annoying thing about the Myer eBay store was that they upped the price of the slave 1 (from 279 to 299) when eBay had their spend $200 get a $50 voucher deal for EOFY

The Star Wars Lego sets - especially the Collectors Edition sets, hold/increase their value surprisingly well.
E.g. - R2D2 was selling for about $200 from memory. When there was an eBay discount voucher a while ago, I purchased 2 of them and now they're $500+ un-opened. (One for me, second as a gift but they'd already received it as a birthday gift so I kept the second one as well. Will be interesting to see its value after the new SW trilogy concludes)
Buy the Assault on Hoth™ it is on sale at Target it is Collectors Edition!! They have many, whole palette full.
Ah is that right - i bought a couple when they came out - one to keep, one to build - might sell the keeper for that money.
If you're interested in making a great return and don't need the cash now, I'd suggest holding on until at least after the next Star Wars movie. Even after the trilogy finishes.
R2D2 is iconic and the R2D2 UCS set (10225) will keep creeping up in process given it is discontinued now.
Just look at the insane $$ that the UCS sets for the (original, unopened) Imperial Star Destroyer ($5,000+), Super Star Destroyer ($1,900+), Millennium Falcon ($8,000+) and Death Star ($2,000+) go for these days.
Agree with your opinion on this one. Not a fan.
Although that price does seem the cheapest around. (BigW has it for $550)
@Killix: Oh I thought 399 was the standard price…that's what's showing on Lego's online shop. I would maybe pick it up for $200…will probably get cleared at some point.
@Turd: My local target has about 20-25 Assualt on hoth sets on sitting on the top shelf at $399 and I don't see them ever moving even on sale. I would be reluctant to pick it up at a 50% off $150 clearance price maybe then. Also theirs a similar amount of UCS Tie fighters next to the hoth set going at $279 which looks like the same stock level as 1 year ago.
It's been pretty much universally panned.
It's like a glorified Creator set rather than an iconic UCS.
My local Myer Store had 6 on the shelf and presumably more out the back don't seem to sell in store but sell like hotcakes online.
I bought 1 when it was $279 a week ago and another one today at $239.20 from this out of know where price drop. I took the one I bought for $279 and Myer refunded the difference of $39.8.
FYI it comes bubble wrapped in a Myer printed shipping box that is much much bigger than the set itself with paper material to fill the dead space in the large box so zero chance for damage.

I was in Myer Sydney store this arvo and they had plenty of Slave 1s.
They were $279 and were not part of their current 20% off toy sale.
Looks like things changed since then…
