Evolve Is Now Free on Steam. Consoles to Follow?

They're calling it Evolve Stage 2

Might be free on consoles also in the near future.

The beta is on Steam because it allows us to iterate very quickly, to listen to feedback and respond in record time (we are able to work on a weekly patch schedule.) We can test new features most effectively here, figure out what works and what doesn't with intent to bring it to the consoles should it prove successful.

    It might be free but there's no point when the servers are empty. This move was done way way too late.

      There are 12,540 people playing at this moment, up from the daily average of 100 over the past month.

      24 hour average 6628.58, 12 hour average 10146.08

      You have a funny definition of "empty servers".

      This move was done way way too late.

      You don't know that. Until we see where the player numbers settle nobody can say either way.

      The game hasn't seen this many players since launch week so the announcement has certainly garnered a lot of interest.
