    Probably only for people who ignore budget airlines? Some of these 'sale' prices are 5x what I paid on Tiger and I can't really justify that.

    In fairness Virgin does fly to some regional towns where budget airlines don't go.

      Sydney to Brisbane is regional? ;) There are many many flight options for this route.

      This is also a very narrow date range. What's special about it? Maybe this is a good price if it's school holidays.

      If this was $2 cheaper - didn't have the second person requirement - and summer holiday dates were in the sale, I'd be all over it.

        Personally I can't even justify using frequent flyer points on Virgin/Qantas. I figure it's better to fly Tiger/Jetstar for $50 (or less) than to use up $100 of FF points plus a $20 booking fee.

        By regional I meant places like Gladstone or Bundaberg which are included in this sale.

        My Xmas flights to visit family - I usually book with my AMEX Platinum Edge complimentary offer - airlines rarely/never work out cheaper for MEL-BNE return at that time of year.

    I've seen SYD to BNE (and vice-versa) oneway for as low as $79 ($89 on fridays) every other month on Virgin! Fail to see what's special about this deal

  It is cheaper than Virgin's 'Normal' prices. EG Syd - Mel 1pm, Mel - Syd 1pm. 2 persons August Sale $436; 2 persons October $620.
