Best place to book a Royal Caribbean cruise

My wife and I are considering a 7 day cruise on the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas.
We are considering a Balcony Ocean View Stateroom.

Having never booked a cruise before, where is the best place to book to get the best price?

The website seems to have the standard pricing, surely there's better deals out there?

  • I have, I've tried a couple of those and they seem to have just the standard pricing, hence why I asked for anyones experience on getting a discount.
    Thanks for the links though.

you're best to book as far in advance as possible. RC have promotions every so often, some are discounts, others things like uprgades to balcony rooms for the price of interior rooms, and perks like onboard spending money.

Depending on when your dates are. I booked mine last minute (1 month before) and picked a Gaurenteed balcony room saving over $1000 a person.

  • you can book direct once become an anchor member (automatically after crusing with RC once). probably the best price - but is still a bit of luck to get the right offer.
there are special In one of these forms of package from eg discount price, room upgrade, free drink packages or internet. at the right time you will get the best deal that suits you.

If you are not resident of North America, you usually can not get these prices.

      • I got them on a Med cruise.

Book direct. Free cancellations (if you book through third party like flight centre or cruise1st the travel agency themselves charge a cancellation fee). If you see a better price or offer beforehand you simply need to call RC direct and they'll adjust the pricing/offer for you. Easier all round to deal direct with RC i've found and you're no worse off price-wise.

    • They no longer do that. It is within 48 hours of booking and their website only.

  • Vacations to go charge in USD. They will book some lines but not others. It's a 1800 phone number so nothing to lose calling to chat.

  • Cruise about are quite good.
