As the title says, Navigon GPS app for the iPhone is on sale until May 31st for $69.99.
iTunes store reviews seem to point to this being the best of the GPS apps.
Combine with the regularly appearing iTunes Gift Card sales and get it even cheaper!!
No way it's better than TomTom, and yes I've tried them all.
The software and a GPS unit is only a bit more. How can they justify the cost when all they are providing is the software,
Fair call, but you could see this as being more convenient for those who just simply don't want to carry around an extra device.. and I suppose those can't be bothered unmounting/mounting the GPS everytime they drive.

You can do that with a GPS too if mounting/unmounting it is too hard.
True - I didn't actually think about that but I don't think people unmount their phone holders as much as they would GPS holders. Keeping a GPS holder mounted is a sign that you have a GPS lying in your glovebox or the storage box between the seats, whereas having a phone holder isn't (because you take the phone with you).

To a thief a GPS or phone holder are going to look the same i think.
The tomtom iPhone holders are big (as is the iphone) so could easily be mistaken for a GPS holder.
If you leave either stuck to your windscreen there is a good chance an opportunistic thief is going to look at your car.
The Navigon GPS holder i have looks much more like a phone holder than a GPS holder so i think either are a target.

how about jailbreak your iphone with spirit and test them all before purchasing?

I have one and it's a great navigation for GPS, needs to be mounted for best signal though.
