At these prices I thought the servers were on sale to own…

    • Hi Pikaloo,

Our prices are very competitive on the market at present. I'm not to sure what you mean by at those prices you though the servers were on sale to own, could you please elaborate further.

  • I think it would be wise to add per month (p/m) to the title.

      Hi Gavmen,

I have made the above recommended changes.

Should let Niantic know about this deal.

  • How do you guys compare with Exigent?

    • Hi Joe,

I don't like to compare ourselves to other companies as we do things a little differently here.

AusNetworks prides itself in it's one of a kind customer support where a personal touch can be found with each customer.

Our services are purely based out of Melbourne and we have a dedicated support team that can respond to any issues quickly and effectively.

AusNetwork also prides itself in it's competitive pricing.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to drop our sales team a line at [email protected]

  • Your website is down at 2:36pm?

"Firefox can't find the server at ausnetworks.com.au."

    • Hi Check,

There were no reports of an outage from our external and internal monitoring services.

Not sure how this is a 'bargain' given that my Sydney VPS (200GB SSD, 6 cores [Xeon], 8GB RAM, 5TB/month transfer) cost me $284.95 for a year (through HostUS). Running Ubuntu 16.04 with xfce and xrdp, it's good enough that I can edit code wh8ile in Windows RDC without wanting to smash things.

A 1TB HDD on the side would be useful (png maptile pyramids and aerial imagery gets real big real fast when you do a whole state). That storage gap can be closed with AWS or Google Cloud, for a buttload less than $156 a month (i.e., the gap between the $24 a month I paid, and the $180 a month of this 'bargain').

Also, Google and AWS 'TB' are actual TB (i.e., 1,099,511,627,776 bytes), not the hovno 'retail' TB (1,000,000,000,000 bytes - as near as makes no odds, to 10% less).

This 'deal' compares to, e.g., Crucial (a VPS provider that we use professionally, who I keep saying we should sack for being too expensive) circa 2012. Their 'best offer' was $1700-odd a year for 100GB SSD, 3GB RAM, 2 cores, WindowsServer 2008R2. (There's no incentive for us to bullet them though, since the cost of the VPS is passed through to the client)

      Hi Diogenes,

Thanks for your input on this months specials.

I'm not too sure how you can compare a Virtual Private Server that shares it's resources between many users and a Dedicated Server which is physical hardware dedicated to yourself and yourself only.

I do tend to agree that Virtual Private Servers can be better for certain clients however most clients tend to stick towards leasing their own dedicated hardware with their own dedicated network interface card.

We have conducted market research on the Australian Industry and have found that our prices come in close to one of the cheapest without forfeiting the support that we provide.

If you do have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to drop our sales team a line at [email protected].

  • With dedicated servers I think people might actually want some redundancy on hard disks. Either RAID1 2x 240GB SSD or 2x 1TB HDD, not one each.

    • Hi Scotty,

All our configurations are 100% interchangeable, the specifications listed above are only a guideline of the servers that we offer. We are able to adjust the configurations of these services as needed.
