Who Has a BlackBerry Priv?

I've just had my LG G4 repaired though I want to upgrade my contract to a New phone and sell my G4.

I am really interested in the Priv because of the physical keyboard. I have litreally no place to see or hold the phone in person.

Is the sound as loud as the G4?
Is the battery good?
Does it lag?

Is it worth upgrading my contract to get this phone?

    I suggest watching Marques Brownlee's review which goes into good depth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-jYDRd_53w

    I have one. I'm not sure about the sound as I've never used a G4, I'd say it's good but not great compared to what I've seen elsewhere.

    The battery is pretty good, especially on Android 6.0 marshmallow with doze. I get through to the end of the day without needing to charge with moderate use.

    I found it a little buggy/laggy on rare occasions on lollipop but it's very smooth now on marshmallow. It's also receiving the monthly security updates very quickly (July update was already released). Can't really complain about anything.

    I didn't think I'd use the keyboard at first, the Blackberry virtual keyboard is already really good but after a couple of months I really began to like it.

  • Will they be dropping the price on this phone anytime soon? It is the same specs as my lg g4 though it cost much more.

      Yeah it's not cheap or great value, you are paying extra for the Blackberry name/apps and the physical keyboard slider. I'm happy to pay that but not everyone is which is understandable.

      They are releasing new phones this year (apparently) so price might keep dropping but in Aus there aren't heaps around so limited availability I think would stop any major price drop like we've seen in the USA.

        Yeah, one of my friend was looking to get one. She couldn't find one that was at a reasonable price for her.

        Those US models that were discounted, as far as I remember, were AT&T model. With Australian telcos, I don't think it'd be happening any time soon (or any time at all). I reckon it'd be easier to just wait for the supposed mid ranger that BB is rumoured to release.

        • If they still had that deal on from last week for the US model ($444 I think it was) I would have bought it. The cheapest Australian model is over $700. To get it on contract with Optus, it costs the same as a Galaxy S7 edge.

          @ufsta:

          Yeah Optus haven't discounted the price once since the start of the year when they got it, they appear just to have it for those who want it rather than trying to sell it.

          I got mine from T-Dimension who usually have the best price, $696 atm. Or hope for some eBay site wide discount count deal to happen, so you can get it from their eBay store which is how I got mine (15% discount code I think it was from an earlier eBay deal).

        • @hamza23: Do the PRIVs from T-Dimension have any problems with creaking or clicking?

          @cpkhan:

          Mine is fine.

  • can the at&t unlocked models be updated without any issue in australia?
