WTF is Pokemon Go? I heard soemthing on the 3aw rumnour file that police keep getting calls about people loitering & it turns out they're playing Pokemon Go.

It's a location based game where you can catch pokemon. In order to catch them you need to walk around. To get stuff to catch them at you have to visit Pokestops (which are at 'local landmarks' i.e. parks, churches etc.)

Gyms are where you can battle your pokemon to try and take control of the gym.

      • Ahh thanks. They're virtual catches, not actual pokemon toys someone's hidden?

        • Yeah if you know Ingress - it's essentially a pokemon skin of that with a few extra features.

          Not real stuff like geocaching.

  • I want to buy this http://www.mushtato.com.au/xiaomi-10000mah-mi-power-bank-pro…

But it doesn't seem to fast charge on USB C?

    • http://www.mushtato.com.au/xiaomi-10000mah-mi-power-bank-pro… will qualcomm fast charge with a usb-a to usb-c cable.

The charger needs to support QC2.0 or QC3.0 though. With a USB PD charger it won't fast charge.

      • But USB C isn't qualcomm fast charge?

My understanding is USB C is 5v @ 3A, so if that is true then this device can't do it.

The reason I ask is I'm buying the note 7 which is rumored to have USB C.

        • I'd be surprised if the Note 7 ends up using USB PD.

Most major USB Type C devices haven't used PD yet.

The Nexus 5X and 6P use 5V at 3A for fast charging. 15W.

Earlier Samsung devices have used Qualcomm Fast Charge 2.0 or 3.0. 9V at 2A. 18W.

        • Got a HTC 10 that has QC 3.0 over USB-C. It's not exactly standard but it is Qualcomm approved.

  • dammit just bought a 10000 mAh charger on monday :(

  • So which is better brand for a power bank? Because I want to buy a 10000maH power bank or higher. Xiaomi or Anker? I am using it for my sony xperia z2 and maybe for my nexus 6p if i plan to upgrade it.

    Thanks

    • Xiaomi is popular on Ozbargain, because it is cheaper than Anker.

Quality of the two is generally similar.
