WHAT IS THE TAPPA+ WALLET?

A slim, minimalist leather wallet with RFID protection AND Anti Card Clash, letting you use your transport card by tapping…

The wallet is divided into readable and unreadable compartments. This unique design eliminates “card clash” with “contactless” payment cards.

This means only your chosen card can be read from the outside. The rest are all safe with RFID protection against card skimmers and e-pickpockets.

It is about commuting smoothly, safely and in style.

This means you no longer have to take your transport card out of your wallet for it to be read – just place it in the readable compartment and tap away. This compartment can also be used for work security cards or low value Paywave debit cards.

  • Price in title please

  • Bifold.. :/ Conventional, but too fat.

    • Hi justtoreply,

We know its not as slim as some, although the minimalist designs restricts you to 10 cards. This keeps it thinner than most standard wallets.

It is far from conventional though, check out the Quickdraw tab for accessing your RFID protected cards. Once you pull the tab all 4 cards slide out and you can quickly shuffle through them to find the one you want to use. The feedback on this tab was it perfect for fat fingers (not my comment, I am quoting a customer). He felt that he had fat fingers and struggled to dig out the card he wanted quickly in conventional wallets.

This 60 second video shows you all the features and how to use the Quickdraw tab.

  • Does it come with a tin foil hat as well??

Plenty of other options out there that are cheaper than these ones.

    • Very true, mine was bought for $2 from eBay, these tappa wallets are a huge rip off

    • Hi Pegaxs,

The unique design of the Tappa Wallet allows you to carry credit cards and the Opal card (transport card) together (side by side) and let's you tap on and off public transport without having to remove the Opal card. Other RFID and traditional wallets cannot do that.

Give it a go. I will give you a 110% money back guarantee if you are not totally convinced.

      Thanks

To save on postage costs, did you just want me to send you my PayPal address for refund? $46 should cover it?? Offering a 110% money back would only set you up for a run of refunds.

While I am sure it is a nice wallet, I just don't think that the price tag is really a sale price. As I said, there is a literal plethora of RFID blocking leather wallets on the market. Most come in at about half the price of these. The only feature you are offering is a Opal/Myki card pouch. Hardly worth the premium…

        • Thanks for the feedback, although if you use the transport system, I am confident you won't return it . I use it every day and love it, my customers who use it love it. All good :)

      • Thats not true. Eg: Kyono. And their slimmy is slimmer than the tappa as its not a bifold.

No way would I pay that total rip off

  • Give it a go. I will give you a 110% money back guarantee if you are not totally convinced.

The unique design of the Tappa Wallet allows you to carry credit cards and the Opal card (or any other transport card) together, side by side and let's you tap on and off public transport without having to remove the Opal card from the wallet. Other RFID and traditional wallets cannot do that.

If you catch public transport daily and use these systems, then this wallet is actually pretty awesome :)

  • What are the dimensions? Any chance of a wallet with no logo?

    • Hi Nug,

      10.5cm x 7.5cm x 1cm at its thinest & 1.5cm at its thickest.

The logo is tactical. It sits above the transport card in the readable section of the wallet. This allows you to tap on and off the buses/trains without having to check which side to pass across the reader. It helps spreed up the process. You can feel the logo with your fingers in your pocket or you give the wallet a quick glance before tapping.

      Cheers

  • Constructive feedback for version 2

    • Logo is WAY to big, this put me off purchasing the most. The logo should be on the inside (customers don't want to be used as free advertising) but if you insist on putting it external it needs to reduce to at least 25% current side.
    • Price point is too high for an online business. Suggest you work with your suppliers to reduce the RRP by $10
    • Website doesn't tell you the features of the wallet however from the photo it looks like there is only room for 2 internal cards. There needs to be room at least 4 to be a practical option for most people.( drivers license, Medicare , bank card, credit card, work pass + travel card in external pocket.)
    • Hi Geryatric,

Thanks for the feedback. Genuinely appreciated.

The logo size has been an interesting point of conversation that's for sure. I did market research on this and the crowd was split. Their feedback was taken after using the wallet for two weeks of daily commuting. 50% loved it (reasons below), 25% didn't care and 25% said they disliked it (for the same reasons you pointed out).

The reason they loved it was the tactical usage of the logo when commuting, it is designed this way for a reason. It sits above the transport card in the readable section of the wallet. This allows you to tap on and off the buses/trains without having to check which side to pass across the reader. It might seem like a simple thing, although it helps speed up the process of getting on and off. You can feel the logo with your fingers in your pocket or you give the wallet a quick glance before tapping. If you use it, I think you would get it.

It's not marketing although I can see how it could be seen that way. We will review this on the next model.

The wallet actually holds 10 cards all up (max). 2 cards on the inside, 4 cards in the RFID section and 2 cards in the readable section. Here is a video that shows exactly how it works. It is far from conventional, although still covers the essentials.
