4 Pack Solar Powered Garden Light $4.41 save $6.59(masters.com.au)

      Any feedback about this?

Like all that type of solar lights they will be crap with limited life, limited light output and limited use.

      • +3

We got some $2 ones at Masters 2.5 yrs ago. Still going strong. E.g. even in the wet & dark Melb winter day/night they're currently glowing away with about as much light as they originallydid (i broke one open as we broke the solar panel & add a normal AAA battery & its as bright as the others).

    • manufactured garbage

    • bad, bought a whole bunch none worked, seems to be related bad batteries so had to replace them all.

The Heavy Duty Storage Crate With Lid 85L is back in stock at a higher price, after Masters cancelled my previous order saying it is out of stock in WA.

  • +2

Out of 5 order I made online in last 2 weeks, 3 got cancelled(because of "out of stock"). hoping for the best this time

  • +6

Your St Marys store should look into those lights on sale. The second 'S' in Masters has been out for weeks.

      @iBuzz7S

Pretty sure that is the managers injoke to the staff ;)

      so has the "bate" :P

  • Any light duty garage shelves?

Well there are these "heavy duty" shelves - bit optimistic but acceptable for me.

  • The Scorpion 12v digital compressor tyre inflator is now $13.65!

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/251415

    • not really good one though. Lack pressure to inflate a single bed.

      • not really good one though. Lack pressure to inflate a single bed.

This is intended to inflate car tyres with a secondary use that it can be used to blow up small inflatable products. Fair enough to blow up your "date" but it's going too far if you're trying to inflate a king sized bed and half a dozen additional "dates".

        • I guess an illiterate who read a single bed as king size bed can show a dirty mouth too. Maybe I have to put "size" after single to make it more understandable?

Putting that aside I agree this is for tyres, you have to wait a bit though due to lack of pressure.

        • @pxrnm: It's not pressure, it's volume. That pump has heaps of pressure - enough to make any small inflatable product explode. After all, your inflatable bed isn't has firm as a car or bike tyre.

A fan has lots of volume (high cfm) but low pressure. You can't fully inflate a car tyre with a fan if you fed it through a small tube as the pressure is too low. But a fan blower can easily inflate an air mattress to low pressures quickly as the volume of air it puts out is greater.

  • Masters using click-bait tactics to get customers into the store / online.
I've had several occurrences where discounted in-stock items ordered online, was cancelled, as it was "out of stock", only for the item to be back in-stock when prices are no longer discounted.

The last occurrence, I had to call to follow up on my order a week later, only to be told it was out of stock. Yet they did not bother to contact me to let me know sooner so I can source from a different store. That and the process to get my refund took almost 2 weeks.

    • +11

I doubt they are using those tactics

They have a crappy unreliable inventory system

When I asked for an item to be replaced on warranty and showed them its in stock at the same store online they said it's always inaccurate and replaced it with a better unit

    • I am with you, ordered online for C&C. A few days later I get a call from the store to tell me that the items are out of stock. Has happened to me on 3 occasions. I even tried to call the individual store to check stock levels and to hold the item for me but they wouldn't hold the item so I had to order it online and again item out of stock. I don't bother with online orders anymore.

      • I've had great results with C&C so far. I really only use it for items that are on clearance or sale. Maybe it depends on your individual store. I usually pick up from Everton Park or Tingalpa QLD.

        • I am in SE Melbourne not so good for me

Liquidation sale rumoured to be nov/dec this year

    • +1

Still waiting for our closest store to open

    • +1

      There is no liquidation planned.

They are on the market and up for sale, but given the current climate no one is bidding. So until a potential buyer comes along, it's just "business as usual" for Masters.

      • Insider word says otherwise.

        Deal is already wrapped up.

        • Ahh fair enough. I was at a focus group for Masters and the reps there said it's still on the market. I guess they're keeping it quiet for now.

      • It would be funny if Bunnings was the only bidder and managed to acquire all Masters sites at 50% under valuation.

  • -1

Good luck if any of those items are in stock. I've noticed masters have not been ordering any new / replacement goods. I think these sales are designed to remove any stale inventory and it's just luck if anything of real value is actually left.

  • -1

They're going out of business, so if you hold off, they will continue reducing prices.

    • +3

There wont be any stock left if we wait till the very end.

They're not closing down, they will most likely get bought.

      • More than likely they will liquidate as much as they can now then sell wholesale to other businesses. As they discovered, it's a tough, risky market to get into - I doubt many companies would be willing to assume the risk

Appreciate the post. Bought a bunch of Disney canvas prints for the kids' play room last night.

Incidentally, went there at 7pm (they're open until 9) and I was literally the only customer. The feeling of walking through such a large, empty store is almost post-apocalyptic.

  • Bought Topez chandilier, Wouldn't let me click on the product itself but added to cart and picked up today. Thats a really good chandilier for $21. Just checked now and it's not even on the website anymore.

Another $118 out off my pocket! Thanks Masters! I rarely go to bunnings now…

  • I'm still a slave to Bunnings unfortunately, all the more frustrating now that they're jacking up the prices because they think Masters isn't able to compete anymore. Case in point, 15A extension cords Bunnings vs Masters.

  • Nice deals. These ratchet tie downs have served me remarkably well for the price, they strap down hard and don't bind (much). Excellent for $7 and so handy.

Masters is just too much of a waste of time. I can't count how many things I have clicked to collect and they never arrive and are then cancelled. Input the effort of collecting part orders and waiting another 2 weeks for the rest only to have it cancelled … over it. Over Masters. I like to look at the pics but i'm not shopping there anymore.

    • Hmm that's a pity, maybe your store is particularly bad. I haven't had problems with the Everton Park store. So far all the stuff I've ordered for C&C have been there, even stuff that's on sale.

      • You'd think, but I've driven well out of my way to try other stores.

is this a good price for a 77 piece tool set - $34

    • +2

      .50¢ a piece, you can't go wrong.

    • These cheap boxes are good to start with, then you replace the tools as they rust or deteriorate and as you figure out what you use most

  • Anybody need some bathroom sinks.

    A few various.

Eg Watermark Tribune was $115 now $20
