I'd been eyeing off these in-ear earphones from Sony for a little while after seeing them listed in a Top 10 Earphones list a few days ago. RRP seems to be roughly US $150.

Then I saw Best Buy in USA has them on clearance 50% off at US $75, and I thought great I'll grab a pair.

But then I noticed this deal at B&H Photo, which has them at US $54.99 + $12.80 shipping (AUD 88.88 at the time of posting, which some might consider fortuitous).

They don't have a mic, which is a shame. But what can you do (apart from buy something else). I bought a pair, see how we go.

  Not saying these earphones are bad but Techradar reviews are always a joke. A short paragraph each and most of the specs are N/A. That article was written in 5 minutes.

  I have a set of these sony earbuds. I find them similar in audio quality of the logitech z5500 THX, though without the bass.
  The foam inserts buds increase sound quality, reduce outside noise and increase ear ache after 45-60 minutes where the silicone ones are better for longer periods.
  Been a hybrid driver the ear piece is larger so don't expect to wear these inside most motorbike helmets. Though I have tested them on the road and the foam insert buds do block more noise out than other brands with silicone.
  After about a year, the silicone boot between the cable and the ear piece split, the split was only a few mm long on one ear piece, which was minor fault and easily repaired with superglue.

  They're clearance or closeout. Australian rrp a few years ago was approx. $199 for the XBA-H1's.

    for what it's worth, if my experience with my xba-3s is anything to go by, it may be worth getting comply memory foam tips for these. Better isolation and super comfy.
