MS Surface Support Experience

After whinging and complaining here something positive.

My Surface Pro 2 was playing up lately, i decided to send it in for a check up. Especially since the warranty expires in a few days.

Monday online chat with MS support
Tuesday Surface collected by Couriers please
Thursday Replacement delivered

I think they have had no SP2 in stock so they sent me a refurbished Surface Pro 3, brand new keyboard, stylus and charger. Blown away with this service.

    Yes my experience with Xbox One warranty with MS was the same, Very good service.

    interesting i think they want to be same level of customer service with apple (free change of mind in xxx days no question asked, etc).
    no need receipt, all track-able by serial number - samsung, need receipt.

    company is too rich anyway no surprise

    Same experience here, dealing through the MS store has been really seamless and painless. It's nice, since the Surface range comes at a premium you do expect premium support too, but often brands and products don't deliver. Microsoft gets an A+ from me on their customer support in recent years.

  • I was expecting the same type of service from Dyson for massive crack on my vacuum motor head and they said, it just a crack you still can use it. I can understand that but amount I pay for it, I wasn't really that happy.

    • Same here. Worst experience possible. Reply to mail takes 10 days on average, asking three times for serial number and address. Never again

      • Agreed! Dyson service are amongst the worst. They keep asking for the serial number of my product when I just wanted a simple answer to my question.

  • +1 for MS customer service, had an Xbox 360 that was WAY past warranty which suffered the old 'red ring of death" syndrome, they collected it free of charge and sent a replacement, all within a week, no questions asked.
