Need New Phone! ($600 Budget)

My Samsung S4 has died and I am in need of a new phone. As the title says, I have a budget of $600 and I'm looking for an Android/IOS phone. Any help would be much appreciated!

Nexus 6p is nice if you like big phones
premium build, beautiful screen with dual front facing speakers. direct update from google etc.

    • I do quite like the 6P, however I have been unable to find it at a price within my budget :(

      • I fried my Nexus 6 a few days ago by dropping it in the kitchen sink. I've now gone back to using my Nexus 5 and have created a search alert on Ozbargain for the words "nexus 6p" so I'm emailed every time someone posts a deal.

Previous deals show it as low as ~$630, this can only come down as time goes on, especially with the expected September 2016 release of the new Nexus model(s).

I'm hoping to pick one up in the next 2-3 months for <$550 if possible (from a reputable company, not from a HK eBay seller), then I'll be happy and will buy. I have no issues with DWI, Kogan etc - it's fine if they ship from HK because at least you know you still get some what of an Australian warranty vs buying from some random dude you've never heard of, who might disappear into thin air when your phone has stopped working.

I miss the 6 already, but a 6P can only be better. The 5 'works' and I'm happy enough to keep using it for now.

      • would you consider getting it with a phone plan?

    OUR VERDICT
The Chinese startup has improved on a number of issues fans had with its predecessor, wrapping the OnePlus 3 in a new premium suit and managed to keep the price low enough to worry the established names in the market.

    FOR
    Premium design
    Plenty of power
    Affordable price
    AGAINST
    Only 64GB, no microSD slot
    Full HD resolution
    Camera could be better

  • there might be a choice in this thread from a couple of days ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/256656

    Or a Moto G4 Plus - http://ausdroid.net/2016/07/15/moto-g4-plus-australian-revie…

  • LG G4?

  • LG G5 for $557 @ T-dimension is pretty good bang for buck for something that isn't a chinadroid / 2015 flagship
