Any ideas why a search for lindt type:ozbdeal is not returning the latest deal from Coles which contains $2 Lindt bars?

I have a subscription event for lindt+type:ozbdeal.

However, it wasn't activated for the latest deal from Coles which contains Lindt Excellence 100g bars.

Any ideas why?

  • Glitch in the matrix….

  • Is it because the alert keyword is only matched against the title?
(The Coles deal did not have 'lindt' in its title.)
I am interested to know too.

    • Hmmm… I think you might be right :(

For some reason the searchable version of the text "as above" has no space between the end of one line and the start of the next.

If you search for "swisse" the Coles post does not show in results either.

It searches the entire post, not just the title.

Maybe read into buffer as contiguous string for searching (after dropping all tags). Then, dumped out (concatenated) for concise display?

It searches the entire post, not just the title.

Oh yes, I can see that now. For the deals with the keyword, all occurrences of the keywords are highlighted, whether in title or within post. Thanks.

As you pointed out, most likely, once concatenated (e.g. $1.82Lindt) will not match the search expression, which looks for 'lindt' as a word (not subword).

Yes it does appears to be the problem where newline characters get squashed. I'll have a look at the issue.

  • Its the ghost in the machine saying don't do it.
