Has iPad Pro Been a Successful Product??

Hi OzBs,

Just wondering what community thinks about iPad Pro? I haven't seen that many Pros' out e.g. while traveling in train/tram etc compared to other versions of iPad.

I was thinking of buying a tablet (most likely an Apple/iPad) and wasn't sure how Pro has been doing in the market! Please share your view.

TIA

They tell you to buy their mini one because it is small, then they make a pro one and tell you to buy it because it is big. Now I have three iPads

    • yep, people following Apple like blind sheep. AKA The Sheeple masses LOL

      • Did it occur to you that maybe the different sizes are for different people?

They make one size, you say everyone buys the one size because they're sheep. So they give you a choice of three different sizes, and somehow you still say people are sheep. We just can't win with you foaming at the mouth anti-apple people can we?

Depends how you define a success. You probably wouldn't see them out so much because they are more aimed at professional use and it would be harder to travel with them due to the size.

Saw once on the train this old office guy wore suits, beat headphones, on his lap, ipad pro with keyboard and then has iPhone 6+.

Im not lying. Too bad I sat next to him so couldn't take picture. Or should I?

Hey can I take selfie with you, I'm fans of apple fanboy!

    • I can so imagine that scenario. The old man with beats headphones, looks weird, maybe trying to attract UNI students haha

  • The big one is pretty specialised and I've only seen a few in the wild, although I both live and work in a very high Apple-use region. I played with one and it was too big and felt too fragile for my taste.

The regular sized Pro is tempting (for the pencil) but my existing Air 2 still handles everything so well that I can't justify trading in.

  • I did see one in wild (at uni, I also saw Surface Book once). I was more surprised than anything else to be honest. Never thought I'd see one at university, because "poor undergrad" sterotype.

Sales figure was fairly large when it was released, it oversold all new Surface line up combined (Pro 4, 3 and Book) during Q4, 2015 (Source). That said, I think Apple's tablet sales figure has been going down ever since (at least that's what I remember hearing).

so if you think of it in terms of iPad sales figure, it would be a flop, but that said it's still an iPad?

  • Thanks all for your responses…

  • Ipad Pro is sooo Over-rated. is it really worth it over a 'normal' ipad mini??

  • Wait, so you were asking whether it's a good product. I kinda think it's not. It's a first gen device and I personally think Apple could improve few things for iPad Pro 2 (if they make any).
