Advice on Buying Graphics Card, RX 480 or Other

I'm looking to buy the rx 480 mostly due to its power usage and low cost (compared to other high end graphics cards)

However, my 144Hz monitor only has HDMI1.4, dual link DVI-D and VGA (because sure). The RX 480 only has 1 HDMI and 4 DP, and I hear that HDMI cannot provide 144Hz @ 1080p.

Does the RX 480 come with a DP to DVI-D adapter? Or should I get the 1060/70/80 which costs significantly more, and churns more power, but has native DVI-D?

In hindsight, I probably should've gotten a 144Hz monitor with DP input, as I hear DP is the way to go in the future

Thanks

    Don't bother with 144Hz

  • R9 390X is a decent buy; has DVI out but considerably higher TDP though.

You can also get a dual link to display port adapter for cheap enough

    • Oh snap. For some reason when looking at eBay for adapters I did not find that! Thanks

Although I heard that its underpowered or requires usb charge or something so it wont perform better or something.

  • DP to Dual-Link DVI adaptor seems to be the logical answer.
