Long-time lurker, first-time poster. Be gentle ayy

    • On one off the other listings on ozb it seems they how have a version of this phone with band 28 support so it's no longer who is $5 cheaper it's who is shipping the one with band 28 for Australia 4 G.

WARNING: Do not buy - They are as dodgy as they come. Spend a couple more bucks and get it from a more reputable seller.

    • Yes, like no stock? :) Learnt my lesson.

    • All my experiences with them gave been great if you can wait4 weeks for the free postage.

  • +8

They have zero stock. May be weeks before they even ship.

I motion for GeekBuying to be banned from Ozbargin. Who's with me?

If you go back and look at reports in the deals comments and the forums you'll see how many other users have had issues with them.

    • Definitely still waiting for orders from the last sale - maybe if you encourage people, we'll get ours sooner? :/

    • +2

Do you have a particular (recent) source that says that they don't have stock of this model? I've seen some comments saying it's happened on the Mi Max, but that phone only came out this month. I don't support a ban, as geekbuying has always shipped to me in a timely manner for everything other than phones. Their customer support is pretty decent too, although they can be the bringer of bad news.

For full transparency, I bought the 2GB/16GB variant of this phone from GeekBuying and was made to wait 2-3 weeks, but this was way back at release time, when virtually no one had enough stock to meet demand. Unfortunately, it seems to be tactic for all the big chinese websites.

Source… see previous redmi note 3 pro geekbuying deal on here.

They still don't update their "Ships in X days" notice on their website to reflect reality.

They're dishonest. Buy at your own risk!!!

      • The recent source is the group of us that bought this phone in the last deal (Redmi Note 3 Pro), only to receive emails that GB don't have stock. This also happened with the Max from that sale, but there is a particular group of us that are waiting for the RN3P.

The logic being, if they had stock, they would've shipped out our phones.

I'm sure they will get them, but the whole experience has been a rather sour one, and to have another "sale" so soon after not fulfilling the orders from the last sale just really rubs salt into the woulds. So, now I have sour and salty wounds.

I imagine that this sale brings in the stock so that the purchasers in the last sale can have the rest of their orders shipped out, and so on and so forth, like a snake eating its tail.

Hopefully this gets the restocking ball rolling, so I can finally get my device shipped out. It's 7 days outside the 7 day processing time, with no word on when stock will arrive.

Anyway, If anyone did purchase from this thread's deal let us know if you get yours shipped so those of us that are still waiting can escalate the situation.

        Cheers.

I have had no problems ordering from them (given, not for phones). Customer support seemed okay too. They emailed me to tell me that my powerbank couldnt ship by air and offered to split my order free of charge. I opted to just wait for the lot because I wasn't in a rush.

I think most people understand that they may not necessarily have stock and accept that you get what you pay for. You need to factor in these phones are 50% cheaper than any Sammy/LG etc for about the same speed/features.

I have the Note 2 and its excellent. I had a similar issue with getting the Elephone P7000 (P.O.S).

I'm starting to like the surprise of forgetting what I ordered and it magically showing up a month later - as long as you factor that it, then both Geekbuying, Gearbest and Everbuying are fine. Don't like the delivery time, you have alternatives that are regularly featured here.

      • +1

I have not brought anything from Geekbuying or Gearbest before, but I purchased 3 Xiaomi mobile phones from Everbuying and within 5 business day they all turn up, so I do not think everbuying should be listed with Geekbuying or Gearbest.

        • +3

Gearbest and Everbuying are the same ;)

      • I think the point was that they said the did have stock, but then mysteriously couldn't send it out, and now don't have stock.

I understand that stock is transient, but the sale specifically mentioned the availability of phone, down to however many pieces were around (There was a number on the picture of the phone above the "buy now" button).

The price is great, but don't say you have stock when you don't - just say it's a pre-sale or something. Easy.

I don't see any problems yet.

They have zero stock. May be weeks before they even ship.

So what? You still get what you paid for and they have an option of fast shipping as well.

I motion for GeekBuying to be banned from Ozbargin. Who's with me?

This is stupid, they deliver the cheap products they sell from overseas in under a month generally so what is the problem? Your lack of patience? Go into a bricks and mortar store and pay three times the price for an equivalent handset in that case.

I've been buying stuff online from China for over 10 years. There are good honest sellers and then there are dodgy ones. This mob falls into the latter category.

They fake reviews online amongst other tactics that the good sellers don't employ.

        • I've been buying stuff online from China for over 10 years. There are good honest sellers and then there are dodgy ones. This mob falls into the latter category.

I've been buying from China for over 25 years and GeekBuying are a decent seller.

They fake reviews online amongst other tactics that the good sellers don't employ.

How do you know they're fake reviews? How do you know that other sellers don't have fans reviews?

    • I think you need to look at a percentage of complaints vs overall transactions …..these guys shipping hundreds of thousands of items so a few complaints are exceptions not the rule.

    • I once had the same experience with GearBest when I ordered the Lenovo K3 Note.
      Ban GearBest NOW

I think it depends on your luck, the product and the particular sale.

    • Same experience - purchased back a Meizu M1 Metal in feb, took exactly one month of hassling and finally threatening to cancel my order before they shipped it out.

There is a user on ozb - "clear" I think his username is, who is supposed to be their "marketing". I pinged him a few times and he was able to get some info on my behalf. But not sure if he actually does anything apart from get a status update.

On the other hand, I bought a Redmi Note 3 Pro from Goldway on Aliexpress, and was in my hands within a week with TNT shipping. Highly recommended.

Sucks that xiaomi don't have nfc, with Google pay in australia and all

    • I agree with you. NFC is a quite useful function for me now. The 3 xiaomi phone I bought from everbuying were for my parents in law. I am still waiting for Xiaomi to launch a phone with NFC before I click purchase button for myself.

      • +1

I think I read that the Xiaomi 5 has NFC but is twice the price of these phones.

        • +1

          It does have NFC.

        • @Risto: Did you mean Xiaomi 5 or Note 3 pro have NFC?

        • @Fishwhisperer: Think he means Mi5

        • @Heaclan: Yes, the Mi5.

  • I wish someone in Aus stocked these.

  • +5

I paid for the Xiaomi mi Max 2 weeks ago and paid TnT and still not here… 2-5 business days my butt….i already initiated a paypal refund. what is the point of paying express shipping if it takes 2 weeks?

    • I think they mean 2-5 business days out of the warehouse…..

Give Clear a PM and he/she can chase them up for you

      • -1

Bull crap. Clear has little to no power to do anything about stock levels. Just go for the refund and stay away next time.

        • not stock levels, orders that have been waiting to be shipped

        • +1

Orders that have been waiting to ship are deleyed due to stock levels bring zero. Clear cannot help with that. This particular model IS NOT IN STOCK hence major deleys YET they keep selling with website saying shipping in 2-7 days.

Honest sellers update their availability of items based on reality. These guys do not.

          @yes8s:
I have just emailed to cancel my Order.
I ordered a whole week ago now (including a weekend).
I was told stock would be there "Within the week".

          Not good enough.
I paid extra, came out at about $265.

I paid for HK warehouse (because it ships quicker).
I also paid for TNT shipping.

I first got an email saying TNT wont service their HK warehouse; but they'd use DHL.
SOUNDS ok, but DHL is shit in Aus, as I'm sure you're all aware, where as TNT are lightning quick…. whatever I said OK.

Then last night I got a reply saying their stock was unavailable.
So I ALSO paid more to have stock sent from their HK warehouse….. which DOESN'T HAVE STOCK.

          NOPE! I'm out.

That'll teach me to shop anywhere but FastCardTech.
If I can't phone them on Skype, and ask where my parcel is to a real human, I'm no longer interested.

  • Can anyone compare Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro (3GB/32GB) vs LETV Leeco One X600?
LETV Leeco One X600 Android 5.0 Lollipop 4G Phablet 5.5 inch FHD Screen MTK helio X10 64bit 2.0GHz Octa Core 32GB ROM 3GB RAM 13.0MP Camera GPS Bluetooth

  • Just to add my experience with Geekbuying has varied.

Sometimes they take forever to send phones, but the last one I ordered from them (Elefone Power) arrived within about 3 or 4 days. Man, I was shocked!

I wouldn't remove them, as all of these Chinese stores have the same modus operandi of getting the order then buying the stock from the manufacturer.

What I hate even more than slow shipment is bloatware/adware. Lenovo, I'm looking at you! Also a couple of VK700's I got for my daughters from one of these chinese stores, asked for it to be clean, and it came with loads of adware!

    Places I generally buy from:
    Pandawill
    Vickmall
    Geekbuying

  • Received an email that my RNP3 from the last deal has finally been posted!

    Arrives next week
