Cashrewards - What Is Your Experience?

Wondering what had happened with my payment I found that they had actually paid the same day of my withdrawal request, which is quite amazing.

Just buying things I have to buy, and remembering to go via Cashrewards has netted me over $200 since last year. I probably don't buy much, and I don't always jump on deals because I don't need stuff (practicing self control), but I reckon that $200 for just shopping via a website is pretty good.

What's your experience and how much have you made?

  • Works fine for me. Made $20 so far

    • My transfer went through easy and funds in account in a couple of days. Nice.

Yea i think i've netted about $150 since joining i wouldn't hold my breath sometimes you can wait 6+ months for a few dollars but it is worth using the website for a few extra clicks.

  • +2

I like them but I hate having to wait 90+ days before rewards are approved and able to be withdrawn. It is too long.

    • Maybe but this isn't an issue for me. As I said, I'm shopping for an item anyway, and I just click through. I'm not bothered by the time is takes when it's just a few cents or dollars at a time. One day I looked and woohoo, $200 for clicking through! Can't knock that.

  • Mine has been generally good. Few purchases not tracked but when I get in touch with them they end up sorting it out which is great. Made 3 eBay purchases in succession; 2 high value (250/400) and one $2.5 and only the $2.5 transaction tracked..

    • I've not had this issue tbh. I've even done what they say not to do - have other pages open, searching other sites - and then accidentally made the purchase and it has still tracked. I'm only buying via a desktop.

I am super impressed with their customer support nowadays!

Couple days ago in this post, Dan Murphy's Wine Cashback Increases from 7% to 12% @ Cashrewards, seeing Andrew (Cashrewards StoreRep) responding to another query, I thought I would ask about my Dan Murphy purchases back in April, and their cashbacks which seemed overdue. Andrew responded shortly, and the next day, the issue had been sorted, and the cashback was in my account!

In another case, my purchase with ozgameshop did not track, I used the online form, and next day, cashrewards responded, saying they had submitted an enquiry to ozgameshop. Even though it might take 30-90 days to resolve, that is primarily due to the merchant. At least Cashrewards had done their bit, and had added the transaction into my account as pending.

Before this, for a while I have been noticing improvements too - like the Click History section (which was a fairly new feature), and also the very easy to use online form to report missed tracking.

So all in all, very happy with them!

Definitely concur with bluesky. In recent months the support team has been really helpful and efficient (special thanks to Andrew for sorting out a transaction in less than 24 hours). Used to have to keep screenshots for fear of transactions not tracking but not since the implementation of Click History. Payout is always under a day. If the wait of 90 days can be shortened then I really can't find any fault with them. Well worth the few clicks and I appreciate the extra savings.

I've encouraged over 15 people to use their website and people are amazed a website like this exists. I'm over $300 in returns since using them and their list of stores keep growing (Most likely TA plays a part in that)
If i've had an issue in the past I just contact them and it gets done, but issues are further apart since its conception.
Great Team, Great idea, Great if they listed on the ASX so I could own a piece of the action!
    Happy Ozbargaining Peeps!
Oh, and don't forget cashrewards before you purchase!

    • +2

The problem is I still forget on occasions, unless explicitly reminded by some kind OZB member in the deal! There are some ebay and masters purchases I went ahead with, and only afterwards, thought to myself, I should have used cashrewards. Ah well, I am sure in time, it will become habitual! :-)

        Make it your homepage ;)

Perhaps not so drastic :-), but yeah, an item on the bookmark toolbar maybe! So it's always in view. Thanks for the tip!

I have nothing but good things to say about the team at Cashrewards! I've probably accrued $300-$400 in cashback over the last 2 years and if I've ever had a non tracked purchase or issue they have gone over and above to help.

I've also found the ease of using their website a lot better then other cashback websites.

Would highly recommend (and have recommended)!

I'm a 110% Cashrewards convert now, due to their above and beyond, just superb customer service. Very special thanks to Andrew who personally sorted out a pending transaction worth a $211 cashback quickly within 24 hours. TA is very responsive too, and he's done a lot of valuable posts in Ozbargain (keep going TA!)

I highly recommend Cashrewards because (1) cashback rate can be quite good especially when they have bonus promo on, (2) their willingness to respond to issues, (3) for their "My click history" feature which makes transactions/claims very transparent and much easier to follow up. Keep up the good work, Cashrewards!

For me, I think it's more that you need to proactively contact them for resolutions.

It's great that we actually have reps here which is vital for communication.

    • I would have thought their system could be much better to track every purchase when you're logged into the website. When will they allow mobile app purchases for websites that have their own app?

  • A friend of mine has gotten over $3.3k from CR over the past two years or so. He does lots of work purchases through CR which definitely helps.
Their customer service so far has been great. I had a purchase track incorrectly recently. It got fixed within the same day.

Wow 3.3k! It's a bit like FF points in this way isn't it.

    Hi,
Very happy with cashrewards so far. Have had to chase up a couple of transactions in the past which can be annoying but they are always sorted out quickly. I also saw the post about Dan Murphys when the rep Andrew was helping someone - sent him a message - he messaged straight back and the cashback was sorted out first thing in the morning. Great service. Thanks

  • Works perfectly for eBay and Sony.
Cashback payment is fast and great.
Still waiting for one retailer (EasyFlowers still pending)

132 transactions tracked since June 2014. >$300 paid out. Most of my transactions are eBay, but also Zizo, Aliexpress, Geekbuying, etc.
Some transactions rejected, particularly for hotel websites where I used a coupon code, but that's not Cashrewards' fault. As far as I know, no transaction has failed to track, and certainly not one for a large amount (I check on those carefully).

My approach is to remove existing cookies for the domain of the merchant before I go there through cashrewards, so that there is no prior history. For eBay, I add the item I want to the watch list, although if it is already in the cart, it seems to track too. For eBay, I don't bother removing cookies, as it always "just works".

I hope that more airlines can be added in future, e.g. Cathay, Singapore Airlines, etc. (hint hint)

    • Most of my transactions are eBay, but also Zizo, Aliexpress, Geekbuying, etc.

Were the GB ones using coupons from my deals? CR and myself aren't sure if they're actually getting tracked or not.

      • Didn't use a coupon for that purchase.

  • I've had over $800 paid out

Never really had any tracking issues. Just have to be careful booking through Chrome on Windows. No surprise rejections either.

I used to put all my eBay stuff thorough them, but since they dropped the reward value I'm going through Virgin eStore these days as 2 points per dollar is a bit more valuable. Most of my rebates these days come from hotel bookings.

  • Pretty happy - money for nothing

    • It's money you already had, you're just getting your money back. But the hassle of untracked transactions is so annoying

  • I've received $130+ in the last 6 months. I used to get better rates with TopCashBack when living in the UK though. Still it's easy money - especially on hotels and insurance etc. To be safe, I always research my purchases in Safari or Chrome and then use a clean Firefox session when making the final purchase via Cashrewards.

  • Has anyone had problems with eBay tracking in the past week? None of my eBay purchases have tracked in the past week, and I'm not doing anything different. The only thing I've noticed is when I check out on eBay now a pop up appears when I select PayPal as payment method to enter in log in and pw, and payment is confirmed on the eBay page, whereas previously it would open a new page and take you to the actual PayPal website where you confirm payment.

    • I bought some stuff this week. Was tracked. Ask TA

      • Thanks didn't end up bothering TA. Thought maybe my computer was hijacked by some cookie from a coupon site around the same time I stopped getting items tracked on eBay so I ended up deleting all the cookies from all my devices yesterday. But then today I got tracking emails for items purchased from end of July to start of August. Weird. I looked at the click through page on cashrewards last night so maybe someone there realised I must be missing some items and fixed it? Not sure..

  • Experience has been disappointing so far. I've got a $4200 eBay purchase and its gone past the reward approval date and the ETA is now blank.

Also another purchase for $2,400 from Lenovo. Approval date is estimated to be 3 months.

    So far ive made $0

    • I've had that happen too, eBay purchase past reward approval date, but I got it not long afterwards.

    • I thikn once it gone pass the rat approval date you just email them and they will fix it for you

  • My experience so far is quite BAD!!

    *** B A D ***

    (1) I bought something on eBay through Cashrewards last week. They didn't give me any credits. I emailed them to enquire, and they didn't even reply my enquiry

    (2) I then booked a hotel stay last night on Lastminute.com.au through Cashrewards. The Cashrewards site advertises that you get 6.4% cashback. And when I click through to Lastminute, Cashrewards displayed a message confirming I would get 6.4%. But I was given $1.57 for a $65.26 booking!!

    (3) I tried to enquire, but Cashrewards closed down their 'Contact us' enquiry form!!! So there is no way to chase them!!!

    Such a bad experience :(

Did you read the description on the CR site? Surely you didn't just blindly click through?

It very clearly says cashback for hotels is 2.4%, which is $1.57 for a $65.26 booking.

It also clearly says "up to 6.4% cashback".

      • Oh I see. Ok you are right. I did "blindly click through".

The reason I did that is because this is not my 1st time getting hotel bookings on Lastminute through Cashrewards. It was advertising 9.6% cashback just a day earlier, and I did end up getting 9.6%, so there was no reason for me to think it would be different this time.

But anyway, ok so it's my fault.

But it still doesn't explain why I cannot ask questions. So the bad experience is still there. It's just less bad. It would have been so easy if I could just ask a question, and then I wouldn't need to complain. (Certainly wouldn't need to waste time to find a 3rd party site (such as OZB) to complain on)

  • But thanks anyway :)

  • I absolutely love this mov

10k paid out in 1.5 to 2 years

    Tracking awesome
The odd one doesnt track but is resolved quickly.

Hate the hotels. Absolutely useless. Slow trackiny, most rejected most pending until next century.
I still have dec 15 pending

    But its not cashrewards fault

  • I have had my second big purchase from ebay declined just recently
Starting to loose faith in CRewards

I am not sure if it's ebay or CR, but can they at least provide a reason for the cashback being Declined ?

All small purchases track and approve just fine - so I wonder what's up

    • First, have a look at the terms and conditions associated with the merchant using cashrewards, which can be found at Cashrewards; it may explain the reason why your transaction is declined. If it does not, perhaps contact Cashrewards. They may be able to find out the reason from the merchant for you.

      • Thanks, yup did that - all within the terms & conditions
have contacted CR so they can review the transaction and let me know

        • Good luck, hope the merchant will review and reverse the decision.

If they won't, and it is due to a reason that is not immediately obvious at all, perhaps share it here. So the rest of us know and can avoid the same pitfall.

          @bluesky:
All sorted. Thanks to TA transaction has now been approved

  • Mixed.

Generally pretty good despite occasional missed clicks - hard to argue with extra cashback. TA always brought value and responsiveness to the table.

Horrendous using with Etihad. Two major purchases have both failed to track and they wouldn't investigate the last one because of the recent policy of not investigating beyond a certain time period. Given that travel purchases don't verify until after travel is completed, I was unable to get an answer about why my $3,000 purchase from six months prior didn't track. Again.

Lesson learned; I haven't used Etihad or CashRewards since. Have been using pricepal.com.au without issue in recent months. Call me petty… ;-)

  • The cash back for my 2014 hotel stay was recently paid out. It was like a windfall as I already gave it up years ago.

  • I haven't read all the comments but I'm a little dubious about CR processes. There has been several occasions where my tracked cashback hasn't been paid. I've contacted CR and (to their credit) they have come back very quickly and said something along the lines of "we apologise for the inconvenience … it should now be fixed" and boom the cash is there!

I'm just wondering why these amounts are being credited automatically and why do they magically appear the minute I contact support?
