They aren't cheap, but for Australian conditions (often wet and relatively warm), they're some of the most waterproof ski gear you can get and are also highly breathable. They are available in ski stores if you want to see them for yourself before buying.

  • This is high end quality product 45/45 wont be found anywhere else, even a 25/25 would be around the same price point pre discount.

  • Still seems expensive. Haven't tried for a while (current lineup of jackets still going strong) but reckon I could get a Spyder, Patagonia or Kjus etc Goretex Jacket from the US for less.

With a very quick/scant look, this looks like a better deal:

http://www.sierratradingpost.com/phenix-norway-alpine-team-s… use the 25% off code ALJULY6. only sz L but I haven't really had a good look around, I reckon I could do much better than $550 for a similar jacket. Phenix, Spyder, Kjus, Patagonia etc would all have a better resale value if you updated your jacket in a year or 2 as well.

Even with their riduclous postage costs and conversion from USD, Sierra would be cheaper for comparable high end jackets/pants. if you are going skiing in the US at the end of the year save on postage and get the items delivered to your hotel room then meetup with them on the way to your holiday.
