Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter - $33.60 @ The Good Guys & Officeworks

730

I've got a set of computer speakers that I would like to add bluetooth capability to. With this device I can. Seems pretty easy to use from the reviews.

I was impressed with this price.

Edit: Officeworks have matched the price to avoid price beating - Link

To compare with logitech, i can say this 8 out of 10, logitech 6 out of 10.
And also it supports Aptx for lossless sound quality.
      Highly recommend this

    Nice!

Got one of these from JB Hi-Fi on the way home.

I have it plugged into my JBL LSR305 (studio monitors) and the sound quality is the same as 3.5mm imo.

    • Overall - very disappointed with this product. I bought one yesterday to place next to the bed, so when the wife watches TV late at night and I want to sleep - she can plug in headphones.

If I use any of my headphones and go above 50% volume (which is still piss weak by the way) on my iPhone or Apple TV - the sound begins to distort heavily. I think the inbuilt amp for non-powered speakers is terrible.

I'm not sure if mine is faulty - or if other people are having similar experiences?

Had this and other cheaper eBay bluetooth adapters, completely inferior to a Chromecast Audio. Difference in audio quality is significant, Chromecast miles better. Range is anywhere within wifi for cc-audio, bluetooth hopeless when leaving room then coming back. Not sure if people realise that once a stream is commenced on cc-audio, it will keep playing without any connection to the device that initiated the stream.
Only drawback for cc-audio is you need a wifi router for it to work, it doesn't work "stand alone" like bluetooth.

Actually the more important drawback of cc-audio is that the app playing the audio has to specifically support Chromecast.

      • Not so sure about that.

On my android tablet, i use the chromecast app to stream any audio from my device. Even lets me stream spotify free to my chromecast which is actually a paid feature of spotify premium.

Also have a program on my desktop pc that does the same. Can stream winamp to the chromecast.

        Great device.

  • I was waiting a while for a discount on this again, cheers!

I have one of these. The annoying thing is there is no power button on the device, so you have to switch it off at the wall when it's not in use. If you don't, then your phone remains connected all the time while in range. I don't want my phone connected when I don't plan on listening to music. If my receiver is turned off, then if I watch a YouTube video or something, I can't hear any audio because it's connected to the Bluetooth. So annoying. If anyone wants mine, I'll sell it for $20.

  • Bit of a noob question…does this work the 'opposite way'…ie if i put it in the headset jack of a TV , can I then pair it with some bluetooth speakers? I assume yes but every example you see is people wanting to make the receiving device bluetooth….not the transmitting one.. :)

  • This is a good price and glad to read all your advice about their performance. I can verify the problem with eBay from China. I bought three and they dont work due to fault. Had local tech confirm this. The eBay vendor won't respond to my emails. They won't respond to emails from eBay. I Contacted the manufacturer who will honour a twelve month warranty, but through the seller. EBay seem toothless. Manufacturer have offered me special deal, being post free on their latest model - but that is not much of a deal! Getting a known brand from a local store at this price seems a great idea! Good to see the price matching comp working locally, even if it is to avoid price beat discount. Wonder if this Logitech model is runningnout? Doesn't really matter if it works well! Thanks for all the advice in the posts!

  • Have one from last time, doesn't get much use, sound is average through a proper ht, and range is crap.

  • It's BT 3.0 guys. Surely there's something newer, better, and no more expensive. I bought a BT3.0 speaker for my bicycle the other week. $7 at K-Mart

And as already articulated, something wifi based like Chromecast is better in many ways

  • Here is another option to get wireless audio to your speakers:

    Kaiser Bass Soundshift:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KAISER-BAAS-SoundSHIFT-SOUND-SHIF…

    Advantages over bluetooth:
    1. Optical output
    2. Wifi = greater range
3 Wifi = arguably better sound quality v.s. non aptX bluetooth

    • Nice. You could also set up a 'headless' raspberry pi running Kodi that would do more or less the same thing. You wouldn't get optical though so you might need to add some sort of usb soundcard. Plus it would be a lot more stuffing around.

      Edit: No FLAC?

      • Specs do list FLAC as supported. Also has Apple Airplay compatibility

Can either function with existing WLAN or Wireless Peer to Peer, although in Peer to Peer mode you would lose Wifi internet access from your device

        • The page linked to got it wrong then:

Audio Format: MP3, WAV, MMA, AAC, M4A, AIFF, Apple Lossless

  • Overall - very disappointed with this product. I bought one yesterday to place next to the bed, so when the wife watches TV late at night and I want to sleep - she can plug in headphones.

If I use any of my headphones and go above 50% volume (which is still piss weak by the way) on my iPhone or Apple TV - the sound begins to distort heavily.

I'm not sure if mine is faulty - or if other people are having similar experiences.

Also - the automatic connect bluetooth setting is very annoying. I'm going to have to hard wire in a switch from jay car (50c) so I can turn it on and off on the device.

    • Your tv outputs bluetooth or are you using a transmitter? And apart from the distortion what's the latency like? I think people have confirmed that this doesn't do aptx, so the quality is not going to be great. If you're prepared to spend more, you could use two Avantree Saturn Pros- one as receiver, one as transmitter- or similar product. This gives you aptx and low-latency.

      • "Tv" outputs bluetooth (really it's my apple tv that's outputting directly to this device).

No noticable lag - audio/video is in sync!
