cheaper to buy a new printer every time you run out of ink!
but as usual new printers come with 'starter' ink which is like 1/4 of the full size

    • +2

Yeah, pity it creates so much land fill. I've got a whole box of power cables now.

This thing does scanning and copying as well….wow.. unbelievable for this price!

actually if youre real tightass which i assume most are here, buy this and use the cart as a refill cart when your current one sponge runs dry.

Balls..>> "actually if youre real tightass"

Hey.. I resemble that comment !!!!

  • i've been using printrite compatible inks. I find their quality to be good. I used to buy these from catridgeworld who sell the catridges for $12.00 but you can buy these online for $2.35 each. Cheap

    • +1

nice. where do you buy these online for 2.35? could only find $10 cheapest. Might call them to see if any left tomorrow probably a limited stock. Also are you able to print with no colour / tri my HP you have to have colour aswell as black in. Won't print with a empty colour cart. which sucks.

        I bought mine from http://www.printercartridges.com.au/ink-for-brother-mfc-215c

sorry my mistake they are 2.54 each but really good. I am currently using some and the print quality is really good. I found this site by chance and stocked up before they run out of stock or something.

        • thats for brother mfc model. The F2480 prices are http://www.printercartridges.com.au/ink-for-hp-deskjet-f2480 cheapest is $20 and no cheaper ones

//Ebay seller 10 bucks for XL ordered 2.

          • @2stroksmokr: oo which ebay seller?

            • @mutantjohn: sitedv88

Black Ink Cartridge for HP 60XL 60 XL CC641W Printer AU $9.99 coming from HK worked out to $35 for $15 postage and $2 insurance (always get) beats the stores $40 each for XL.

Also would recommend MGS supplier aussie and has them for $37 I believe. I print everything in fast draft so this is going to last me for a long time.

        • thank you. I paid about $12 for mine! and the inks need changing even when half full! brother doesn't like them to run empty and it won't let me use them even though there is still a lot of ink left.

  • valid in VIC or only QLD?

  • Now that is a bargain.

  • Now that is a bargain.

  • Great price. But if you want a good solution for your printing needs I think a laser multifunction is the way to go.
you spent about $100 and it lasts for ever!

    • what do you mean? the ink or the printer lasts forever?

      • +1

        The USB cable. ;)

        • +2

I thought he meant the desk footprint.

  • They only retail for about $10 more =/

    • from where?

      • Australia Post shops for one (at the moment anyway).

    • +1

For an item that costs $19, $10 more is a big difference.
If it was $149 vs $159, that wouldn't be much of a discount.

  • sydney?

    • Yes, anybody see one in Sydney? At that price I wouldn't mind grabbing one as it also scans, and is supported by HPLIP under Linux.

  • +2

I just hate the HP bloatware that comes bundled with any of their multifunctions.

  • WOw, do these use two ink cartriges (one for color and black) or separate( cyan, magenta, yellow, black)? Coz if they are separate inks, they are sure worth the buy. XDXDXD

    F2480 is $38 at JB Hi-Fi
    http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/computers-laptops/printers/hp…

HT was advertising them for $38 here last month http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/24037

HP F2410 Multifunction is $49 at Australia Post stores (for comparison)
Includes black and colour cartridges. USB cable not included. 18ppm black 15ppm colour. Scans 1200 x 2400 dpi.
    HP 60 Black $22.95. 84949. 60 Colour $26.95. 84950.

  • Wonder if JB or OW will price match. OW has them on clearance for 38 aswell.

  • Bought one of these a few months back for $38 @ OW. For the money it is an excellent printer/scanner/copier.

  • +1

OW price matched for me. Just printed out the picture of it. Yay HT is part of OW they said

    • +1

Yes, that's correct, they are both owned by Wesfarmers. I learnt something today. Which city are you in? It could be a Brissy store special, $19 is half of $38.

      • Got from Morayfield. Came to 18.05. Quite happy my old giant printer HP 2410 its cartidges are compatible only reason I bought it in the end. Get 2 x black ink for $18 on ebay.

  • as mentioned above if you want cheap printing and only need B&W text then go for a laser

brother lasers are still under $100 , i print about 20 pages a weeek and got 2.5 years out of it and just replaced it with another brother where before i was lucky to get 100 pages from 1 black ink cartridge on a bubble printer

even better if the page gets wet say from rain then the text doesnt diappear like an ink printer does

  • I have a Epson TX100, which would use more ink and be cheaper for ink?

  • thx, l managed to prive match at OW yesterday.

    • woot, just picked up 1 from OW.. $18.05, brilliant. have to go back tomorrow and pick up another for home.
