KFC Stops Drink Swap-Outs, Pushes 3 Piece Meal to $15 with Coleslaw

KFC stops drink swap-outs which push's a 3 piece meal to $15 with coleslaw which makes Big Rooters $9 "classic roast" (without pepsi) a veritable bargain!

Hi KFC, yes, it is me again, I am just so disappointed by this I thought I would post just to double check I've got it right and there isnt another way around it.

Is it true I am going to have to pay $15 if I want a few tablespoons of coleslaw with my three piece menal? No more swapsies?

I only just recently returned to you. Yep, a ten year hiatus. I was away primarily because of price-point and BR's Classic Roast. The only reason I returned is while in WA recently I discovered I could swap out my drink for a coleslaw. When I got back to Brissie I continued to do the same until I was told I could not last friday night.

So it appears I have missed out 10 years plus of KFC because I didnt know about the swap-outs. That's my fault, I should try to stay more modern I guess.
But it doesnt matter know because you have stopped the swap-out on drinks which forces me to pay $15 for a three piece meal with a few tablespoons of coleslaw….. bummer for us both eh!

Sanders didn't get promoted to Colonel by being some nancy pacifist!

  • Your heart with thank you for giving it a few more years by skipping on KFC crap

  • Calm down sweetheart, it's just some pimply faced kid on a power trip.

I swap the potato and gravy for dinner rolls all the time. Once I was told that it can't be done, to which I said it can be. The kid then said "I work here so I know better than you!"

Needless to say, the manager was more than happy to give me the dinner rolls instead of potato and gravy.

    • yeah, I thought it might have been some sort of power-trip….. but there is now a button on the register for swap-outs, so, you-kow, they can't do if they isnt a button for it…

  • Get a whole chicken from woolies for $8, forget Kentucky.

    • Plus a large family tub of coleslaw for another $8

  • I'm sure they will be greatly affected by your breakup

  • KFC express app?

    • isnt available in QLD..yet…I hear next year they will update the POS systems in QLD stores to be compatible

      • typical isnt it… new owner come in, think they can change stuff and then start loosing customers, bluddy typical….lol…

  • If it's too expensive don't buy…

  • OP. Totally understand your feels. As a mid 50 kg's male spending nearly $30 for A SINGLE MEAL at KFC is just too hard for me to cop! I love it so much but QLD prices (different licensee) are the worst.

  • Wait for the next round of Open Kitchen and you can nab it for free

  • you can never take one experience as rule with places like these, they employee the lowest hanging fruit of the job market and have such a high turn around.

in all likelihood you got the kid who doesn't know how to do that exchange in their system and its way easier to say its not possible then hold up everything and go get the manager they are probably still scared of at that point.

on the occasional times i visit kfc i usually swap my potato and gravy for a coleslaw and id say 1 out of every 10 times i get told its not possible

    • your allowed to swap your gravy with potato for coleslaw, but not you bun or drink…

they changed there cash register software recently, everything is done buy the button now

my goal is to have some potato with gravy, coleslaw, chips, bun and chicken, im not fussed on fizzy drinks…

    • Can you still swap the free chips/drink from the survey?

      • +1

        Not for QLD Stores….
in that free chips and drink you cant even swap the chips to anything

  • Thanks Oscinator1988

Does Collins own the stores down on the tweed border?
I may just drive to Tweed to spite Collins…lol…!
Damint, i may just get convoy going!

    • Yep, tweed is owned by Collins. Collins has also bough 25 new stores in the nsw/vic border

      • well bummer, my money and custom is not good enough for Collins, no worries, ill spend it elsewhere…

  • lucky my local store accepts the KFC Xpress App so most of the times I don't need to deal with asking for swaps.

If I do get the 3 piece box, I usually change the dinner roll to another side cause I would prefer a second regular chips, potato & gravy or coleslaw then 1 dinner roll, should be at least 2.

    • cant swap the dinner roll out - Brisbane City store quoted me this

      • I'm not from Queensland so probably different rule up there.

  • Just a quick update

Not all the stores have been updated yet so you can still swap pepsi or chips for coleslaw at some stores…

Stores charge different prices for the same product
