These have succeeded the Pistons. They have improved the design of the cord by braiding it with kevlar and said to have better sound then the Pistons from reading a quick review.
These have a two drivers - a diaphragm driver for well defined bass and a balanced armature for accurate highs. I quite like the sound.
In regards to the new balanced armature - apparently people who have iPhones are having issues running them compared to the older Piston just an FYI for iPhone users
Both are great headphones but the Piston V3s have a flatter sound signiture whilst the Hybrids have more bass. I personally prefer the v3s sound. Build quality is excellent on both.
Great sound for the price, although I wish they didn't protrude from the ear as much as they do.
I bought these from one of the last deals here. Love the sound quality, but the cable on mine is really bad. Basically it is covered by some kind of cloth, and this cloth is now broken at at least three places and seems to get worse everyday unfortunately. I use them the same way i use all my headphones (e.g. roll it up and put it in pocket once in a while) and never had this kind of problem before.
Same thing happened to mine. I have used the Piston 2 and 3 previously and didn't encounter this issue. I thought it was just mine that had a problem…
Same problem. The rubber cable has popped out from the cloth sleave.

As for the headphones, they are great. I have bought 5 pairs (all from geekbuying) and everyone I give them to loves them and wonders why they have been paying so much for headphones…

Very durable headsets, great sounding device for the price. I bought mine before the price spike though. Looks great, mic and volume buttons are a plus too.
