I got one of those $10 compact ones from the local Chinese/Dollar store.
Been servicing me well ever since in my work bag on those unexpected days.

It's been recently stolen by a workmate that refuses to give it back.
And if it breaks, its only a $10 loss I can sleep over.

I have had this korjo one for 6 years after another Ozbargainer recommended it…

Has taken a beating but it's still going well.

Would rather spend $25 once than $10 per year for a flimsy one.

You mentioned you will be visiting London soon in another post.

If you do not manage to get one before you leave, it might be worth your while to check Poundland in London if you come across it (it is like our $2 shop here). I managed to pick up a few foldable travel umbrellas, fairly good quality and light enough, for 1 pound each from there. Which is cheaper than one can get here.

    • Oh, really? That's true…
I thought it would be more expensive than here!
So in this case, I can save some weight in the luggage as well :D
      cheers mate

The demand for them was high though.

I picked up a couple from a full box. Then, probably less than 2 hours later, decided to go back and get another few. Found the box gone, and quite a few stacked near a cashier's counter. I asked and he was really nice, I was still able to purchase. I suspect he was probably saving them for himself. So, demand is high, hence depends on when you are in the store.

BTW Everything is 1 pound in Poundland. So there are some good bargains.
