Looking for Good Quality Micro Hifi for My Parents

Parents Denon UD-M30 micro hifi started playing up. CD player no longer opening an working. So they have asked me to look for a new one.

Basic requirements:
Dab+ radio
CD player.

Other requirements would also be nice.

Nedia playback USB (FLAC)
Internet Radio.
Media streaming.

Was looking at the new Yamaha MusicCast MCR-N470D which looks great but they don't seem to sell that model in australia only th 470 without the digital radio option. So looking for other options on what to get them. Have no set budget in mind. Just get an idea of what's available.

  • We recently got the MCR-N670 for my mother in law. It's a brilliant little unit - superb sound, discreet and looks good. She only wanted it for CDs and radio. Digital reception is fairly crappy where she is so lack of DAB wasn't an issue. She doesn't need or use all the bells and whistles which is a shame (but she is 85 and will not be adopting 'smart phone this and internet that' she tells me)…
If the MCR-470 was available I reckon that would have suited her also.

And Panasonic has a pretty good range , we have one of the base models from a few years back. https://www.panasonic.com/au/consumer/home-entertainment/hi-…

  • My wife kept bugging me to get her a new set when the old one broke. I got her a JBL Flip3 portable speaker and enabled Bluetooth on her iPhone.

She's more than happy now and feels it's much better and convenient than her previous HIFI set :)

  • http://store.sony.com.au/CMTX5CDB.html#start=1 This one should be good. It doesn't have DAB on the listing but it's listed at JB Hifi as having it and all the global Sony sites - I spoke to a Sony rep about it who said they would update it…
